His sense of entitlement will interfere with good judgement after being drafted. He's been told he's "God's gift" his whole life and everyone has bowed and made his life easy (see daddy's underhanded dealings to use his son for gain and his covered up indiscretions at Florida). The NFL bows to NO ONE. A few good shots from NFL linemen and disgruntled vets in training camp will chip away at his false sense of confidence.

If he goes to the Panthers, he'll be tutored by.... Jimmy Clausen. The Bengals and he'll be the next Akili Smith. The Bills and he'll have poor coaching. He's in trouble. Cleveland won't take him. Where will he end up?

He won't be able to rely purely on athleticism to be superior and unfortunately for him he's never had to develop anything else. Wait until he lines up and sees Ray Lewis across the line or Belichick on the sideline and he'll get killed. It's been made so easy for him by his dad and his coaches (dumbed down offense at Auburn). The NFL eats over confident jocks for breakfast on Saturday and sh!ts out Heisman winners before kickoff on Sunday.

Be prepared for an extended hold out and a retarded start to his career. He'll be behind and struggle mightily. He thinks he's better than he is and doesn't need to be in camp. He'll sacrifice the time in camp that he needs (and in the long run, a big pay day down the road) to get a better rookie contract.

JaMarcus Russel is fat and lazy. He never put in the hours studying game tapes, etc. He though that talent alone would make him a star in the NFL.

just an observation and a projection based on the history of other individuals who were in similar situations and handled this kind of situation similarly. he has shown from his dealings with 3 universities, that he has a big ego. jamarcus russell, kijana carter, robert gallery, michael crabtree, jimmy clausen.... big egos, poor nfl careers.

the last big holdout from Auburn..... Bo Jackson, drafted by Tampa. But he didn't sit on his a$$ for a year. he played baseball. and Cam is no Bo Jackson.

KiJana Carter tore his ACL in his first NFL game and was never the same. I don't think a big ego had anything to do with that.

Interesting, would everybody's assessment of his intelligence, and his ability to learn how to read NFL defenses be different if he was white? I am not saying that there is overt racism at play, it is just that subtle prejudices affect how people think.

He held out, didn't go through camp, wasn't in shape, and wasn't ready to play football. The "not in shape and not ready to play football" would be contributing (not all) factors with that injury. All because he wanted a few extra dollars tacked onto his contract.

Kellen Moore is going to be in for the same kind of shock. He's never seen anything like the NFL out in the WAC.

No racism. Just looking at history and realizing that it tends to repeat itself, especially when you're dealing with 22 year old who liked to have their egos stroked.

It's unfortunate that a lot of these young players (like a K. Carter) listen to the wrong people and get horrible advice. He may have not wanted some extra money on his contract, but his agent did, or someone who was supposedly looking out for his "best interests". I was watching the 30 for 30 special on Marcus Dupree last night and he had this "Reverend" friend who negotiated his contracts and managed his money, and the guy robbed him blind.

A lot of what makes an NFL QB great is the work they put in and their attention to detail in the week leading up to the game. I don't like Tom Brady, but they said during the game he spent the flight to Chicago yesterday looking at photos of Soldier Field to get familiar with the locations of the clocks, lay of the land, etc. He was on the way to being ready to play in an unfamiliar stadium before he even got there.

A big difference for Vick this year is his preparation and work. While with Atlanta he was the last in and the first to leave almost every day. The Philly coaches have talked at length about the incredible amount of time he is putting in now to prepare and with his talent that makes a huge difference.

No way is he better than Luck. In the NFL Newton = Jamarcus Russell. Luck = Tom Brady, Peyton Manning. Newton shows little evidence that he can read defenses. He is a great running back who has an NFL arm too. In college that works. The Auburn running game is so unstoppable that defense are forced to commit 9-10 guys to the run. Then Newton just springs a pass and someone is inevitable wide open. But thats not going to happen in the NFL. Luck becomes more amazing every time I see him. Luck is truly unstoppable. Even Oregon never really stopped him. He can instantly size up the field, find the best option and execute any throw.

Quarterbacks who rely a lot on the mobility or played in spread option offenses in college usually don't translate well in the NFL.

Newton has a history of DAFN behavior, that indicates that he is probably not bright enough or capable of enough emotional maturity to last long at the NFL level.

To watch these football geniuses question the intellect of a quarterback who won the Heisman trophy yet somehow is not bright enough to run an offsense (unlike them)? All the while pretending their attack on Newton has nothing to do with his being black (and possibly even believing it themselves, their level for self delusion being up their with those whites who argued -- and in many cases, still do -- that slavery was good for people).

The pay cut he'll take moving to the NFL from Auburn will depress him. He'll be unmotivated and will underperform as a result.
