Look, I know I can come off like a dick, because I sometimes say things that people don't want to hear.
Because there is more to sprinting than just doping (really, there is), I respect people's desire to have me just shut up, because they don't want it always shoved down their throats.
I have never forgotten this thread. I have infinite patience, and I NEVER forget things that I think are important. It's one of my greatest assets, and one of my greatest failings.
I would have waited 10 years, if that's what it would have taken.
Now that some of what is going on is out (and believe me, it is FAR from the whole truth), you guys should take time to consider this: what is REALLY going on? What is it about these stimulants? Are they used in combination with other things? Are they masking agents in their own right? What are the specific tests? Why are they banned? How much were they taking? What is out there that is still technically legal, and which gives confusing test results for tests for actually banned substances?
Nobody here knows exactly how fast 10-flat is. The only reason I know is because I have run beside guys who were that fast. There is natural, and there is more--for instance, BJ was more.
Consider BJ, he was years ahead of his time. He was stopped at 9.79, and would have made it deep into the 9.7's, quite possibly to around 9.6x-mid/high. If he is to be believed, he would have made it to 9.3x Really, none of these dopers has done anything more significant. Not only have natural athletes not gotten significantly better, neither have the dopers.
Where the limit is with dope, I have no idea--and make no mistake, even if stimulants, it is dope. Have you ever seen anybody effed up on PCP? Like I said in another thread, drugs will get you to a place you could NEVER get to without the drug. That's the whole point. If Johnson says 9.3x, whatever--his opinion is as good as anybody's.
It's only a matter of time before he is asked his opinion on all of this, if he hasn't been already. His response will likely be "Of course, I told you this a long time ago."
Also, like some say, where there is smoke, there is fire. Don't think that stimulants and diuretics are the end of the story. DON'T.
