Probably not, since next year will be an up and down year (alternates, this year is uphill). Maybe Mt. Cranmore? They usually make the decision in December. This year was a one-race qualifier.
Was Zach FREUDENBURG a surprise top ten or expected? What are his PRs? Other than the stroller world record has he had other impressive results?

And what a difference, the entry fee has doubled for 2011. IIRC, it was ~40 last year (it was $36 in 2007).
It's now $80 for the same race, but run by Dave McGillivray/DMSE and Mt. Washington Auto Road company (for profit company?)
I can't believe the event is going to be that different. So what is the reason for the cost increase? DMSE or the private company that manages the road.
Feels like price gouging, why don't they just call it the "Ironman Mt. Washington race" and charge $500+?

Dumbass - if there is a lottery to get into the race, it makes financial sense to jack up the price and reduce demand a bit.
The two bike time trials up Mt. Washington also sell out very fast (no lottery though) and they cost ~$250 IIRC. I'm not sure if the bike races require more logistics, or incur more costs (insurance, etc), I haven't been to both events.
But I don't see how doubling the price will reduce demand. $40 or $80, it's still not a large amount. I could see how some folks would get annoyed that they doubled the entry fee for no apparent reason.
We know that the timing company isn't charging more this year. I'm sure DMSE charges something (it's a business right?) whereas the previous race director ran this thing on a volunteer basis AFAIK.
