Congrats on being average.

I didn't see a lot of people ripping on Usain Bolt's performances on the basis that he can't break 16 for 5k. What's the point of criticizing what someone can't do (or worse yet, what they can do, but which YOU don't think they can do) in an event very different from their specialty?
Guys training for 100 mile trail/mountain ultras don't spend a lot of time running 400s or 800s on the track.
Tell it to the guy who posted this stupid response:

No, you just run 15:30 5k as a senior in college and are mad that so many people are better than you at every kind of running.

Nice times on your 2-mile and 5K. Add some regular weekly mileage and you can carve some big minutes off those.
Congrats to you and everyone in the Leadville Jog being below average.

Below is from his own blog. 16:53 at 10,000 ft. Has he run sub 16? Nope. Could he? Pretty good bet that he could.
Are you are really a sub 15 5K? In the big picture that ain't much unless you are in high school which could be the case given the high school mentality. Anton is out there doing things few can do. Why come here rip on him?
Alas, I persevered and cranked down the Main Street stretch run in fear of being caught by the ever-surging Kenyan runner to record a winning time of 16:53, 34 seconds ahead of the second place David. I had certainly run (very) hard, gone severely into oxygen debt, and turned the legs over significantly (my main goals for the race), but I hadn't really known what to expect for a 5K at 10,000'. I am pleased with the result, and, combined with my many mountain runs will head into this weekend's Leadville Marathon with some fairly high expectations, mostly time-related. It is pretty amusing that my lifetime 5K PR (from 2001) is 16:31, run at an altitude of 1500'.

Be sure to sign up for it next year since it's so easy.
Three words: woulda, coulda, shoulda.
Never said my times were worth much, they were posted on here in response to the dink who said that there are entrants in this 100 mile hike who are "better than" me at all distances.
Is this http://twitter.com/search?q=%23lt100 telling us that Anton is no longer in the lead? I think he's still undefeated in ultras up to this point!
That twitter feed is saying that Duncan Callahan has passed Anton. There's only about 20 minutes between the first and third place runners with 26 miles to go at the Fish Hatchery.

There's posts from 5 different people saying that Duncan passed Anton. At the Fish Hatchery, it sounds like it was Anton (1650), Duncan (1707), and Tim (1711), all within 21 minutes of each other, but it sounds like Anton was cramping and fading.

Never heard of you.

Is letsrun on Greenwich Mean Time now?
Now they say Tony is leading, Tim second and Duncan third. Sounds like a real close race!
that last bit is 4 hours old.

So does this mean that Anton is not back in the lead? Confusing...
Anton had to stop for his buffet lunch and lost a little time. He is back in the lead now even before Tim and Duncan are scheduled for their 4th meal of the day. He will hold a commanding lead once they go in the pits.
So now it says Anton has dropped @ mile 75!
Sounds like from the tweets that Anton dropped out at mile 75, just a mile past the Fish Hatchery, due to cramping.
Sounds like Tim Parr won in 17:27 (@9:27 PM)
