Its a good thing football season doesn't start in June, because Michael Vick would just add to the dog days of summer.
Would it be funny to name your dog Vick?
I think people forget just how good Vick is. He's going to be a starting QB in this league for years to come. His passer rating from past years doesn't nearly reflect how talented the guy is. He needed to get out of atlanta. Does everyone forget watching this guy in college?
I question why Andy Reid would risk dividing the fan base (and the team) over giving Vick his second chance. Seems more like a sympathy move on Reid's part than a football move. The Eagles are a very good team...capable of a championship and this is just...Bad Newz
No perspective would be if they bought baby calfs, fattened them up just for your pleasure and then killed them so you could eat steak.

Don't forget, this fan base you speak of just tried to get rid of the NFl's #3 or #4 best QB. They wanted Donovan out! That fan base is delusional... Reid just signed the best available "athlete" in the NFL...

The QB controversy is something that happens every year. Eagles fans have gotten used to it. I have always respected McNabb and I can't argue with what he has done. Philly fans demand a championship--sure the team has been consistent over the past decade (with the exception of a couple of seasons highlighted by an injured McNabb)--but the QB controversy will continue until that happens.
Vick has divided the fan base on another level. Here in Philadelphia, I have heard/seen interviews with life-long fans who are embarrassed by the signing, many of whom are willing to abandon the team that they feel has abandoned them. I have friends who are dropping their season ticket plans and refuse to support this team--everyone has a different take on the situation.
You can argue that the Eagles were just looking for the best athlete. That's fair. But before the ordeal with Andy Reid's sons, I say he doesn't make this move. I think that influenced him into making the Philadelphia Eagles a rehab institution.

Like I said before... Philly's fans are ridiculous. I personally wish he would have selected a team and community that would have been more accepting.
All these programs are willing to take wife beaters, drug addicts, and accused "human" killers in their organization, but Vick is still looked upon as a menace to society. I would understand if he was applying for a job at the humane society.
I say the hell with their fan base. I would be willing to bet my paycheck that their organization makes more money now than ever... If I were in Philly, I'd buy season tickets today!

No perspective would be if they fattened them up watched them fight and then destroyed them and buried all that meat out behind the house.
ok, i was on the phone with Dmac last night, guess what? vick will be used to return punts and he will be used as a 3rd down back with wesbrook, to create confusion

I've heard rumblings about Vick as part-time running back? I think it would be easier for him to get back into sprinting shape than throwing shape. He hasn't touched a ball in what...2 years? Timing is going to be crap.
Vick has been in prison. I think it is safe to say he has touched plenty of balls.
No perspective would be if you knew something about the conditions that result in the delivery of your steak.
You accept the killing of animals for your dining pleasure. Many accept the killing of animals for sport. A duck is dead if you kill it, regardless of whether you eat it or put it in the garbage.
Vick is now a puppet of our culture and is guided by a very honorable man - and he has to be in order to have a job. Where is Dandy Don Meredith when you need him.

No...that would be knowledge not perspective..and I do happen to know something about the beef I eat. If I walk up to you and shoot you in the head on the street for no reason or if I shoot you while you are breaking into my house with a loaded gun you are just as dead...but the perspective of the two events would not be the same.
If you shoot a duck in the head, what is your reason?

Michael Vick has inked a 2 year deal with the Eagles.
Well, it proves a certain political faction is indeed in charge. No white player would be back in the league if he'd done what Vick has. And I'm speaking about Vick's shitty performance as a QB. Toss in the dog debacle and the white guy would be scrubbing trash cans.
So he went to jail for not playing quarterback well enough? When you shoot a duck in the head, what is your reason?
IF it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, and you shoot it in the head, then you've probably killed a duck.
We miss you Dave at track and field news message board.
Indeed. The OP was right. Look at how far McNabb has fallen and how high Vick has risen.

Yes, look at that punt returner go
