What is the proper way to pick up a girl at a bar

I will marry you under the following conditions:

1. We play GT 2009 at the nearest local bar, of course.

2. If I win, you do a double shot of Jack Daniels with me.

3. Since it will be a Saturday night most likely, you will also be required to join me on my long run the next morning at 8am because I never skip it and usually have no one to go with.

If you can pick her up and carry her comfortably (and aren't some giant guy) then she is good to go. If not, you're probably better off leaving her there.

Now, if she is good to go and you still can't pick her up, you have no business with her at that point anyway...

Here's a few things I've learned.

If you don't leave the bar with her, your chances of it working later on are almost zero. Getting her number or telling her you should hang out soon is useless.

Ask her where she's from or what she does, then just queue off that. Just keep asking her questions, and be interested. Don't pay too close attention to her though. Try to act as if you've got a lot going on and you're friends are calling you, and you'll be back.

Making fun of girls is pretty juvenile, but mild sarcasm can sometimes work very well. The minute you make her feel comfortable, you're on your way. Try to get to a point where you're acting as if you've known each other for a while.

Give her your number. I can't tell you how much better that works. Tell her to to text you (not trying to start a texting debate, but younger generation it works well). Act as if you wont be bothered if she does or doesn't.

Make fun of yourself a little.
