i cant think of 2 people in the world i would rather NOT go out with those 2.....by far the most boring looking people in running.

i think they call that team spirit, maybe thats why they win so many relays.
was the biggest gays of all out....Mr anderson and his pet hamster ward out?
Maybe they win so many relays because they are good at attracting people from all over the country to up sticks and run for them. Maybe what they need are a few Chris Davies, Jon Browns and Nick McCormicks who don't go on the piss and actually run fast and for their country. .......... I suppose the usual '"boring ba$%$%$%"' answers will come back. Maybes but at least faster boring ba£$£$£% than most piss artists!
Yep another case of jobs for the boys. Only Davies deserves his place in that team AT THIS POINT IN TIME as he ran the fastest leg at the weekend.
Mccormick wasn't even a goofd enough club man to turn out for his beloved morpeth. What has he done all summer?
Makes me sick the amount of guys that sweated blood at Sutton park and they go and pick 2 guys who haveent shown any decent form for over a year!
Ooooooooo!....someones bitter and twisted! When did Jon Brown last run for his country (Wales)?
We had a little night out and a Belgrave dance off, which I won of course. Nothing wrong with celebrating a great win and having a few buds with ya team mates.
Ask him. It might surprise you. How does 6x1500s in 3.55 with 90 seconds recovery sound?

Please tell me when Jon Brown has worn a GB vest and run poorly. I can't think of an occasion.
please tell me when Jon Brown last ran well
I mean, yeah, I know he's no slouch but if you're going to give an experienced guy a run then Ian Huspith for example has run quicker over 10k this year than Jon Bown - and there are plenty of younger guys who have run similar times to JB this year so why not send one of those?
Agree totally.
Maybe he needs a race to get him ready for another excellent placeing in the Olympics and theirs not many you can say that of
What are you talking about, Jon Brown has shown outstanding form in his recent outings.
can't believe people are doubting jon brown. he is the closest we have come to olympic medal in the distance events since 1984
hear here or here here or hear hear

Absolutely! This year he is ranked 9th fastest in the UK at Half Marathon and 12th fastest at 10k. Of course he should be in the team you numbskulls!
Yeah...lets pre-select him now..for the marathon in Bejing ...based on his last two Olympic runs.
Fact is Brown does something no other male distance runners can do bar Mo Farah, he can peak when it matters. Chris Davies might be very good at bombing round Sutton park once a year at break neck speed but what has he ever done when it really mattered? In the 70's there was a guy whose form was indifferent and he was beaten regularly in lesser competitions but come the Olympics he would be right, that guy was Lasse Viren, didn't hear too many people slagging off Viren when he was gaining fitness or coming back from injury. Brown is our very own Viren, in fact he is quicker at 10k! Why the hell do people continually slag him off? The guy would be a hero in any other country, why do you think he is going to the Ekidens? Because the Japanese know a great runner when they see one and I would reckon (Ekiden expenses are paid by the organisers) Brown is a big draw for the orgnaisers. Some countries understand their sport and have rspect for great athletes. In this country we just knock em down and slag em off, I just cannot understand what JB has done to piss off so many people, he should be much admired, his record speaks for itself.
If Brown wants to sue Ekidens as part of his build up to Beijing that is fine by me, he knows exactly what he is doing and many of our distance runners should seek him out for advice, rather than bragging about only doing 40 mpw and looking like tellytubbies.
Thats got to be the most riduculous posts of the year....must be a UKA selector.
Virén was alleged to have been involved in the practice of blood boosting.
But you may be getting to the point of why Jon Brown was selected...in respect of expenses.
The many posts are generally, making the point that there are many runners who have showed better form than Jon Brown this year and which may better serve the UK in the future.
