Yes, she's on the Swedish National Team. And if they can find Swedish heritage in Jane Hedengren's linage (very likely, given her last name, though Norway might have a separate claim) they gonna offer her a Mondo deal too, as they should! ;-P
Yes but Mondo's mom was actually born in Sweden. She met his father because he was a world class vaulter and I believe she was an accomplished gymnast.
100 percent true. 100 percent NOT important outside of the US. European countries generally allow for lineage generations back when snatching athletes. If her grand-grand-grand-something can be proven to come from Sweden or Norway she can choose to compete for them if she wants to, they'll take her, and she won't have to deal with US trials etc.

She ran 4:05.39 last year, which ranked her #3 in Sweden and would have been #21 US at age 21. Lifetime bests in 2025 in the 800 (outdoor), 1500 (indoor and outdoor), and mile (indoor and outdoor). Obviously on a upward trajectory. Worthy of a contract.
College coaches, are you upset by this? Is this a sign if you sign with the Ducks, Nike will take care of you? How does someone who never scored at NCAAs (12th indoors and out last year) get a Nike deal?

Wearing a Nike or Adidas uniform does not mean you’re getting paid. This girl never scored at the NCAA meet and finished dead last in the NCAA final last year. Good for her for continuing to run. But it doesn’t seem she’s running for the flagstaff group and if she staying in Eugene no one wants to run for the non existent elite team anyway. Let her train while she gets her masters are Oregon. No way she just running and staying in Eugene. No one is that clueless

People don't normally say "professional deal" if it's just gear and travel.
This happens all the time, athletes land gear and travel deals based on an hope of upside. She hasn’t performed well at NCAA meets and seems to struggle when it matters most, but a 4:05 shows real potential. If she can afford to keep going, good for her, hopefully she puts it together and turns it into a legit contract.

You are twist my words. I have gotten gear and travel and didn't say I had a "professional deal". These are not the same thing. Yes people get gear and travel all the time and not call themselves a "professional athlete" or tell people they have a "professional deal". These both imply that your paid job is professional athlete.

She ran 4:05 last year at age 21. Of course she got a pro contract. She would have gotten one with that time regardless of what school she was running for.
To be fair, she was a scoring runner for her team at the NCAA XC Champs in 2022 (44th) and 2025 (64th), although she was never an All-American in anything. Enjoy your fancy kits, but there is no way this deal has a significant financial component.

Hahahahha.... I can affirm she's getting paid, bro. That's an earned jersey.

Gear and travel , and who cares who gets paid or not. She’s a 4:05 girl and allowed to continue to train with her college coach
