I was thinking how many titles would a healthy fresh Jakob win in an NCAA meet.
The 10,000: You’d expect he’d win this but his competition would be steepest with Habtom, and he’d have a 1500 prelim in his legs. I’d still give him the edge.
1500: Yes he wins this most years even with studs like Strand. This year 100%
Steeple: logistically he’d have to scratch the prelim here, in a vacuum he could win
800: don’t see him winning this
5000: biggest slam dunk of all
So he’d be worth 30 points. I think prime Girma might be able to replicate it with Steeple for 1500, not sure of anyone else who could.
To be clear this is talking about tripling, not if he’d win these events individually (which he obviously would)

Rojo, this is gold. Pure gold. You make so many good points here. All joking aside... Hobbs, even Hocker would be a good candidate for NCAA eligibility. I mean hinchcliffe went back. Seems like it's a gray area at best
It really is a rare case of something being a win-win-win. It's a win for Jakob as he gets the perfect level of competition and perfect venue to work on his 1500m tactics as he comes back from Achilles injury, it's amazing for the fans and it's amazing for Nike/Phil Knight/ORegon.
PS. There was one quote that my source mentioned to me that I thought was interesting but got edited out of the article. He said that in a moment of frustration last year Jakob said, "What do Cole Hocker, Josh Kerr and Yared Nuguse all have in common?" They all won an NCAA 1500m title and owned me in the 1500 at the Paris Olympics."

I'm dead serious is saying I think Cooper Lutkenhause should consider trying the NCAA. His coach is very close with Ryan van Hoy, the Cal Poly coach. If I was him, I'd want the college experience.
Even if he doesn't compete in the NCAA, I think Cooper should go to college. Running doesnt' take up that much time. Weldon and I started letsrun as we quit are jobs for 6 months to get him ready for the 2000 US Olympic Trials. Running was taking up what a max of 3-4 hours?
What were we going to do the rest of the time?
You don't want to sit around and obsess over yourself or social media all day.

case by case basis, imo. if school causes stress and wrecks rest/sleep, it's a hard no. If it's stimulating and appropriately fills social time, go for it.
you only have so many years at the top in the 800. Choose what to do with your time very wisely.
i definitely think college is something to strongly consider
When i first logged on, i thought that the NIL has gotten crazy if guys who have run on the DL circuit could run in college...but then i saw the Kipchoge costume post and looked at the date.
