I’m 53 and staring at never training seriously for a race again. I probably will, but right now doing anything at all just leads to just so much pain. Back can’t handle bouncing on a long run, or if the back is fine then PF kicks in. Or my hip. Or my achilles.
All that said, I really do want to shoot for a sub 3 and think I could if I could just stay healthy long enough. Tempo runs on good days suggest the raw ability is still there. Hope springs eternal.
I like running more than is good for me.
