Anyone who thinks they were going to see a true world competition with best representation from each country and especially the US. Less than the World Indoor championships or DL in terms of hype, overall performance and interest. US men had huge potential but its not to be due to "injuries", lack of interest and timing by a few that could have made a difference. Ultimately, I dont believe we are better than the top 3 teams until we can prove it but it would be nice to give our best shot by having our best consider being a team. XC is definitely a different sport than just a bunch of track 10k, 5k and marathon guys doing an off road race.
Agreed. A top-tier World Championships would have had Sawe, Kejelcha, Fisher, Korir, Tola, Barega, Ingebrigtsen, Cheptegei, El Bakkali, Girma. I'd rate it roughly equal to the Shanghai DL.

Rocky Hansen is the biggest loser. He seems quite fragile. I hope he recovers quickly. And, yes, he should be more upfront about his health next time. This was not a good look.
Parker Wolfe is the big winner among US men. He showed his performance at the trials wasn't a fluke. He beat all the Americans again, including our two sub 12:50 guys. 11th overall is solid. Within the US, he has to be regarded as a threat in both the 5000 and 10000.
If he can continue to improve this year without any injuries, it's reasonable to expect him to run well under 13 and 27. I wouldn't be surprised to see him under 12:50.

Losers- anyone who tuned in wanting to actually watch the races. The sport penalizes its fans time & time again. How much cheaper are drones or was this just because of the gimmicky course? If the choice was have a lead moto or build a mud pit it should have been obvious which direction to go in. If you need a challenging course maybe you pick a different location.

You obviously were not an elite runner. In my experience running with runners both way better than me (Olympians/Comm Games/WC/World Cross) and runners not as fast, no one talked in that fashion. Letsrun click bait and ignorance from you.

Almost everyone near me brought food from home in a clear plastic bag, which was allowed. I had packed a small cooler, but learned on arrival that it wasn’t allowed in. I arrived early, so no line at either food truck. I bought two fresh bananas from one and that was fine till the last race was over, but I was free to go back to the car with a clear plastic bag and bring in my food. Would never have waited that hour, just bought something from the locals or competitors’ families who brought oodles of food from home. You could see exactly what it all was in the clear bags. $10 would have worked beautifully. We were all chatting and I got to meet their kids/spouses/friends who were competing, after the races. Great vibes all day long.

I flew in from out of town and stayed at a hotel. I didn't have a cooler or food to pack. I ate breakfast at my hotel before going to the meet. I figured I could have lunch at the venue, which is a reasonable expectation. Having a light lunch was important for me because I was scheduled to do the 4K community race at 3:20, and I didn't want to run at that time without having eaten since 8:00.
People attending the meet shouldn't have to bring food or scrounge off others. There should be enough food trucks or concessions to handle the crowd.
