this thread rocks. I don't fold anything except dress shirts. Why waste time folding running/workout clothes . My job is also casual so I just wear drifit
I do this but it is starting to annoy me so I am getting in the habit of folding laundry and putting it away. Too much time spent bent at the waist rifling through bins. Don't even get me started on trying to find a matching sock using this method.
All of my clothing lives in 4 laundry bins on the floor of my basement. every day i go down and rifle through the bins to find a suitable outfit, throw all of it in the dryer for 5 mins and put it on. I haven't folded or hung an article of clothing in 5 years. Is this weird?
I don't believe it is weird as I do a similar thing.
In my limited 'man cave' area of our house, I have three boxes of clothing (four in winter) that contain the things I wear most days. Running clothes, around the house clothes (I work from home) running clothes, hats, gloves, socks yard work clothes,
I have other neatly folded and hung-up clothes in our bedroom closet, but my wife sleeps in later than I do and it is easier for me to have these commonly used clothes in boxes in another room so I don't wake her up.
Most of these boxed clothes are semi clean. I might wear some things like a pair of pants, socks and a t shirt 4 or more days in a row for my job (mainly computer and phone work). They really do not get that dirty and washing clothes too frequently is wasteful and causes them to wear out quicker.
I have one box of running clothes. These are primarily old synthetic knits that stink due to bacteria living on the embedded oils and sweat that I have been unable to wash out. I might wash these once a week or so. Since I primarily run alone in isolated areas I do not care if they stink, are wrinkled and a little dirty. These running clothes are otherwise high quality and very functional.
When I go out in public, do a group run, race or run where other people are I wear other clean clothes (that do not smell). But 98% of the time I am wearing clothes from those boxes.

You clearly have the ADHD.
This might blow your mind, but I'm a woman who would do this if my husband wasn't folding and hanging my clothes. I also have ADHD. Once I was diagnosed, I started to understand that I'm not lazy, just efficient.

My wife and I do the same thing! About once or twice a year she will reach a tipping point and we spend all day folding and putting away clothes and throwing out some we never wear but sure enough we find ourselves back in the same boat a month or so later...I personally like it because I dont have to go through drawers to find all my clothing, its a one shop stop!
It is pretty weird. And lazy. I assume you haven't had a girl over in this whole 5 years. The minutes you spend "rifling through bins" and drying clothes for 5 minutes would probably be all it takes each week to put your clothes in drawers and on hangers.
Funny you say that. What the OP does is basically what my girlfriend does. Nothing in drawers or on hangers.

Sounds like you need a folding table to put the bins on and buy all matching socks?

I think it is weird, but if it works for you, knock yourself out.
