do many delusional takes. Parker has only been running for 6 weeks after 8 months being out with an injury. She looked 15-20 lbs over optimal race weight. She easily makes the Team if she stays healthy and they ran this race 2 months from now.

That’s the nature of sports. Just about every athlete in every sport has had an injury with unfortunate timing at some point during their athletic career. Those that haven’t have been lucky.
Allie O ran a smart race and had a good result. She should trying running a stupid race (go out with the leaders, and see what happens).
Agreed. Normally, Allie’s last kilometre, which was the fastest of the whole field, should have been enough to bring her up to 7th. The problem was that Sterns’ last kilometre was the second fastest of the whole field.
Allie O is like 28/29! She destroyed Katelyn and Parker. I am shocked. I think they both peaked in college.
Saturday’s race was not definitive and in no universe is she better than Valby. If Valby can stay healthy, 14:40/30:20 is not out of the question and she would be close to lapping Allie in the 10.

Shoulda, woulda, coulda...
I like Valby but what happened, happened.
With the world championships being in the U.S., there was a lot of pressure to run USATF, but that doesn’t mean they wanted to, or were prepared for it. Running World XC and finishing 2 minutes or more, behind the race winner, doesn’t provide much motivation to want to make the team.
Well duh. Nobody thinks they dreamt it. Houlihan earned a world medal this year but finished way back. She will beat Allie by 45 seconds in a 5k in the spring.
