This back in early 90s at my university. Two gays literally lived in the locker with a full view of the shower. People, including myself, had no idea what the F was going on.

Forgot about a Haitian guy who also seemed like he lived there. It turned out he had a lock cutter in his lock. Stole a ton of stuff from lockers. He did get caught eventually. Store my $100 Nylon Bill Rodgers running jacket/pant.
Sounds like your old university was populated by sh*tbags.
The school was a joke when I went. But can't complain. Now the school is ranked on of the highest in the nation. Avg SAT score is just below 90% percentile. So when I tell people I went there, people get impressed. I only found about this after having people tell me this. I looked up the school on Google and I thought to myself are we talking about same school. The Asians are half the school now.
As someone that consistently swims to supplement running, the ability to seamlessly transition is a must. Juggling the time between work and limited pool hours is challenging enough. Newer pools tend to have individual shower stall amenities and thankfully because older males are a nuisance in athletic club lockerrooms walking around naked. From there a comprehensive gym bag is your friend to get in and get out. If you can transition successfully and function it is sort of liberating like going camping.
Not only do I shower I also use the Jacuzzi in the locker room as a therapeutic location for masturbation which provides proper motivation. I also recommend buying a white cane and sun glasses these items are necessary for "Accidentally" walking into the women's locker room!
I did today because I had a commitment right after and it’s just the way my day worked out. I rarely even go in the locker room at my gym, but when I do the showers are rarely in use. If someone is using it, it’s usually an older dude. Is it weird? Gross? Was just convenient for me today
Going into the locker room at the gym is a sign of latent homosexuality, like peeing when sitting down. Even if you’re moving your bowels, you should stand up and turn around to pee.
When did young people become so paranoid about public showers? When I was in middle school we were required to take showers after PE, as well as HS. Sometimes the teachers would check to make sure we got wet. The showers were all communal, not like the ones in gyms today with separate stalls.
No wonder young guys today aren't getting any. They are terrified about being naked in front of another person.

too true. the fear from the posters here is palpable. no wonder trump was able to fear monger with his lies to the presidency. twice.
You can say it's a generational thing for sure but somewhere along the line in the past 20 years things changed throughout the locker room. Lurkers, creepoids, and spitters have displaced the regular dudes just going about their business. Spitters hacking up a loogey while trying to clear their nasal cavities rank high on the WTF list but the worst culprits aren't in the showers though. No, the actual worst are the dudes who find it completely normal to sit their bare ass sphincter on the wooden seats at the lockers. Without a thought of hygiene they'll plop their completely spread ass cheeks down and smear their ass butter all over the bench then try and talk to you like it's a freaking meet and greet.
Current personal rules for the locker room/shower: wear flip flops at all times, no eye contact, no talking, dont sit on or touch the benches!
Only after running as usually running indoors makes us soaking wet after 40min in the treadmill. But if I'm doing strenght training or olympic weightlifting I usually don't see the need to shower as you don't sweat a lot whrn you have at least 3min rest between sets, unless it's a particularly hot day.
There's an article in the current 'The Atlantic' entitled "The End of the Naked Locker Rooms."
An Excerpt:
“For more than a century, the cultural norm in the United States was that nudity was acceptable—at least within same-sex environments,” Beckert continues. But many of the everyday spots where Americans once encountered unclothed bodies—locker rooms, school showers, public pools, bathhouses—have “either vanished or shifted away from collective nudity.” This kind of casual nudity has in part declined because the mainstream assumption that “same-sex facilities were inherently asexual—and therefore appropriate settings for nudity—no longer holds,” Beckert writes. Meanwhile, broader conversations about consent, sexual assault, and vulnerability, as well as the ubiquity of phone cameras, “have raised questions about the discomfort or even legal liabilities that such spaces can create.”
First I have to tell you that I started my teaching/coaching career at the bottom in the 1980s. That meant being a paraprofessional/substitute teacher/ hall monitor/locker room monitor/ and etcetera. In the earlier times all the kids showered and we handed out towels and they were free to the kids. I do not think there was as much shame, most people walked around in their birthday suits. As time went by that slowly changed to some kids dressing with towels around them, they were very skillful to hide their nudity. Stories were told how the girls did that too and at one school I worked at their were shower stalls for each kid, but by the time I got there no one showered. Eventually it got so bad that girls would walk into the boys lockerrooms unannounced and the coaches present even the fathers of the girls! I was in my 30s and some of the high school girls were openly interested in me. Some even treated me as if I was still in high school like the other boys. They talked about how I was cute and they were going to get with me. Another school had girls going into the boys bathrooms, but I think that was more to challenge me as it was one of my first teaching jobs.
