It is a 5 loop course, That is significantly more spectator friendly than most road events. And World XC is unlike any other distance race in that you have a pretty big group of runners who will stay together for a good part of the race. You should get to see some action out on the course.
5-6 hours is worth the trip. Tallahassee is cheap. Weather should be nice in January.
There is a sort of community race, fun run, a 2k and 4k after the race on Saturday and you don't need a USATF membership for that one. There is some sort of entry fee though. If you are doing the club race on Sunday, you do need a USATF membership and pretty sure entries for that close at the end of the November. I'm one of the official volunteers so I will be there! It is a 2k loop so should be good spectating.
I attended the Marathon Olympic Trials in Orlando and wore my LetsRun t-shirt. Not one person approached me, so not sure how the well the 'meet the Let'sRun crew' will go.

If it is not important to Grant Fisher, it should not be important to you. Shouldn’t this be your life motto: You should ask yourself in any situation: “What would Grant Fisher do?” This works pretty well for me.

Stay home, then come to letsrun and complain about the lack of spectators.
I'd say, "go," but one approach if you're not sure is to ask yourself, "How much money am I willing to spend to make this happen?", then get an estimate, and see how the figures line up.
There are a lot of motels in Tallahassee that are beyond miserable, so have a few laughs from reading the reviews and avoid those places!
This is so very true. I go there often for a cross country and track races, and easily some of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in my life for Tallahassee. There are of course good ones too, but book early or you'll be out of luck.
not usually one to judge people here, but give me a break. What are you doing posting on the message board at 5:40 AM if you're not willing to drive a few hours to watch the premiere athletics event in this country in 2026?
Heck, you could drive in that morning and make it just fine since you've clearly nothing better to do than post online before sunrise.
Full disclosure: I am posting online before sunrise but I am also flying down to Florida, already have my ticket for the event and am running the club xc race the next day. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
