Only 1 US male and 2 US females were able to hit the OT standard today. It was 72 degrees and 20mph winds. I ran slower today than I did in 2018 at Boston when it was 38 degrees rain and 20mph winds.
You are 7.5 years older now. Of course you ran slower.
I ran my PR in my 40s... after running marathons for over 10 years at that point. Getting older doesn't mean slower.
I ran the 10 mile and couldn't even hit my half marathon pace that I did for a half marathon in May this year. Sunday it was hot and wind was noticeable but honestly the hills were worse than I remembered they were. I did meet my top 150 goal though.

But the 10 mile was at 7 am, is that correct? It was only like 68-69 degrees at that time. And no sun. Is that really hot for a 10 mile race?
Conditions were clearly not suited for PRs, but also were not brutal. The temps and the course rewarded a more conservative approach. If you glance through the times, almost no one achieved negative splits. The best performers were close to even. A LOT of people blew up in the second half. My adjusted pace fit this calculation almost exactly:
