It depends on whether Fisher can get over that voice in his head telling him he needs to prove to the world that he has a kick.
His kick used to be poor relative to his strength - that's a fair evaluation. He worked on it a lot over the last year or two, and his kick has gotten much better as a result - also a fair evaluation. None of that changes the fact that very few people can crank out a sub 4 last mile on an already somewhat hot pace. He is still a strength based runner - just one who now has a better kick than he had before. Jakob doesn't look great, but it's still questionable whether his 5k will be better than his 1500. Fisher is not going to outkick Hocker in a race slower than 13 minutes. I don't think it's going to matter fast vs slow against Laros - either he'll be recovered from the 1500 rounds and has the 5000 strength or not.
Fisher's best chances are clearly to put the pain on from a mile out. I don't think it'll be enough to drop Laros. Mehary and Gurma are likely to contend. Nico is clearly one of the favorites. Probably a few others (I can't find an official start list anywhere). Jakob is questionable but more likely to be there here than in the 1500, but a faster pace makes it harder for him to hang too based on what we just saw. Hocker will be running angry, but I don't think he can kick off a low 12:40 race. Fisher's best chances are to run hard from far out.
