As someone who knows way more about this than you do, I will try to gently remind you that a 28:30 10000m runner does 10x1K at 2:51 without any rest. Are you OK?

You can’t do 15x 1k at 10000…
It is quite challenging but of course you can. Some of you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. You haven’t been there.

I know you lack understanding here but let me explain. One could be a 4:10 miler. One could do 3x800 in 2:05. You would say you can’t do it because it is doing mile race pace for longer than a mile. But you can.
Look I am a Klecker fan, but he only did the last rep at 2:48. The average was 2:51. and he had several reps between 2:53-2:57. So your post title isn't even accurate. And he was down at sea level. He's gonna run 2:11-13 in New York and that's great for him. Honestly he should think about ultras. His dad was a great ultra runner.

seems the athlete was running 85%, which allows build up,
so not too much throttle
that said,,after a traning block of 8 or 10 weeks , you can be a bit of an animal in some hard sessions, as you get sharper, you can redline higher, easier, And thats where you dont want to ho over the 85%.

It is a great workout but anyone who can run 28:30ish could do this workout.
mmm, I agree but 15 of them as a non 10k/marathon guy, more 5/10 guy is pretty darn solid. Although he has run like 60 for the half?? Hard workout either way.

Generally speaking, doing 15k worth of threshold pace would be considered a tough workout. Him being a professional doesn't really change that fact. However, low altitude, longer rest(?), and other factors could make this much more manageable session. If this was indeed an 85% effort by the end, it's not a post worthy workout. It's just another day. Didn't Dathan do a 10 mile training run in like 45:00 before running a 2:10 marathon? That's post worthy.

you act like Klecker posted his workout here and not some basement dwelling looser
