I mean, sure, one could argue that she over-raced/trained her senior year, and so she’s fairly close to her athletic peak already. That’s probably correct, but why not give a young, promising talent a strong incentive to prove even more?
If she falls short, she’ll still fall in line with PLENTY of past talents who “burned too hot” early on…if she succeeds, then she gets payed handsomely, and the expectations will continue to weigh on her until she retires and adopts more of a coaching role.
Overtrained and raced? She hardly ran with her outdoor season starting in late May.
Although a bit quiet, she had PRs at 800 1500 mile and also in xc.
So not a ton of awards, but a very solid sr year.
Im rooting for her. But you are polishing a turd a bit. A 1 sec or less pr in all 3 track events is probably not the progression she or anyone would celebrate. She's 25 sec better at 5k than 9th grade year.

Problem for fast kids is they are fast. Sort of hard to make big inprovements if you are already fast.
Will Cooper L be a turd, if he only slightly improves his jr yr performance from 1:42 at 800.
Sadie ran 2:02/4:07. Her sr yr 1500/mile times are all time top 5 high school performances.
Her xc performance was all time #1 at Woodward Park, where German still has boys record.
Obviously, Hedengren has an even better year, but Sadie still quite impressive.

Her times are 9-ish (rounding) / 19 seconds off WR. Lutkenhaus is 1.3 seconds off...
Sadie is good, no doubt, but the gem of the incoming class, at least in my somewhat biased opinion, is Daniela Scheffler. IIRC she was 16:40ish 5K XC on a moderate course and finished just ahead of Sadie at NXN. She’s really solid and a hard worker. She is the epitome of a blue collar hard worker. I was really psyched when she committed. Now if Henes can only get Sophia Szolosi of Athens to commit for next year. She may be better than Scheffler
