Of course it is one game and anyone who thought UNC was going to be any better than 7 wins was delusional from the start so there is room to improve (could not really get much worse).

I don't watch football, but this is pretty entertaining. I might watch some of the next game just to see Belichick's chick advising him on the sidelines. What could possibly go wrong?

I agree, it is entertaining, but also embarrassing to those in the ACC who are professionals. I could see Saturday Night Live performing a skit on Bubba the AD, who is moving on to a new administrative position at some point, and the basketball and football programs. Even some UNC supporters are starting to realize that they are wasting money and whatever is going on isn't working. For future recruiting, what can you say to 4 and 5 star recruits so that they would want to be part of this mess?

College sports is all about recruiting.

BB's hiring in Dec 2024 gave him a chance to do some recruiting for players for this year but he will not have a full impact on this process until next year

Writing a coach off after 1 game, particularly in college, is really really really dumb.

The transfer portal makes it faster than it used to be but 1 year of recruiting used to mean the incoming freshmen were your recruits. It will be 3-4 years before Bellichick has all his own players.

If his plan is actually to get back to the NFL he will need all 4 years and more to succeed enough to get a job again.

In the new age of college athletics, UNC has a lot to prove. Their AD, coaches, and staff have no record of success. That is not BB's fault, it is probably Bubba's (AD) fault. Even their dominant women's soccer program is struggling.

UNC is competing with a number of teams for recruits that are not talking crap about what they are going to do in the future, but already competing at a high level.
