The article says "How Brooks rescued HS running championships at Balboa Park" not Stamps, Torres, and Williams. Give credit where credit is due, looks like Garrett Heath/Brooks.
Ken Stone has been an excellent sports writer for years.
You mean the same Ken Stone who wrote this pile of feces?
Three days after their 29th wedding anniversary, in pandemic-struck May 2020, Mark and Suzy separated. Days later, Mark sued for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Why is this needed when there is already RunningLane? Now we have three meats when theyre should be only one.
because no one cares about Running Lane
There isn't a truly National HS Championship. It would have to come directly from State championship advancement. Not sure why nationally this can't happen - maybe Red states and Blue states can't get along. Every year there are disagreements as to what teams get to go, even with Regional blocks to advance. As long as Shoe companies sponsor these meets (same with indoor/outdoor Track), and not the National HS federation, it will not be a truly national meet, even if there was only one of them.

The teams that make it to NXN are about 99.9% representative of the best national field. Any team now that does not make the field has no chance to win, and only a remote chance to even be top 10 on their best day.

The Ultimate would be a 7 boys, and the ladies, team from every state. Sure, California would have to be a favorite every year.
If I win the Powerball this week then I’ll spend $1 million plus to get the race started…

Let me help you out with your misunderstandings.
You won't win the Powerball.
Brooks doesn't need your money.
The race has already been started without your help.
7 runners per state times 50 states is 350 runners which is impossible to fit on the Balboa Park course.
