I went a couple of years ago. The price gouging on the strip was mind blowing to me. I've done world travel for work including expensive places like Tokyo, but I hadn't really ever seen anything like this. I'm talking $20 for a small coffee, crappy entrees $50+.
It didn't used to be like this. From talking to locals, it seems like things changed once the casino industry consolidated and everything got bought out by the 2 main players.
I'm guessing this strategy is backfiring and they'll go back to the old Vegas in the not too distant future.
You need to go downtown or otherwise off-Strip for good deals.
I always stay on Fremont Street.
Favorite place is the Golden Gate.
Corporate greed, high resort fees, charging for parking, 30 bucks for coffee and a bagel, 20 bucks for a bottled water. The gouging of everyone is making them not want to come back.

It’s pretty impressive how Trump is managing to keep things open and avoid shutdowns. The market and the economy are booming right now, which is something a lot of people didn’t expect. Honestly, it feels like things are finally moving in a positive direction. I’m really thankful that the Democrats are out of power, and from the looks of it, it seems like this change is here to stay. It gives a sense of stability and hope for the future.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Good one!

Also Massive U.S. Investments from Major Corporations. Unemployment is down and US GDP is rebounding nicely.
Uh huh. Sure Jan.
Recent Rise:
The unemployment rate increased to 4.2% in July 2025, following a small increase from June 2025.
Recent Stability:
The rate has been fairly stable, remaining within a narrow 4.0% to 4.2% range since May 2024.
Long-Term Context:
The current rate is higher than the rates seen during 2023 and 2024, which were part of a prolonged period of sub-4% unemployment in the U.S.
International tourists spend a lot of money and prop up the economy in multiple places, including Vegas and Florida, among those most dependent on it. There was a post-pandemic high of 72.2 million last year, accounting for an estimated $254B in spending. So far this year, international tourism is down significantly, so it figures that Vegas is hurting. In May, revenue in Vegas was down for a fourth consecutive month from the same period in 2024. Why is international tourism down? Look to the White House.

Incorrect.
The casinos on the strip did away with free parking, implemented resort fees, got rid of the $5 & $10 table games, killed the cheap buffets and now nickel & dime people to death with these new "fees" at restaurants and bars. Comped rooms are only for the "whales."

Down across the nation too.
Shocking, just shocking! Not really though, most people are Poors and aren't traveling.
Makes travel cheaper. Booked flights this week that were super cheap. Lower gas prices and less demand are not the worst things.
Done lots of road trips. Never stopped in Vegas. Even for gas. In fact I stepped on the gas pedal more when passing through.
A lot of things are hurting Vegas as a previous poster mentions.
Gambling is everywhere. You can gamble on your phone or in a casino in any mid-suzed city.
Drinking is down and the guys trips of going to Vegas to get hammered are down.
International travel is a big part of Vegas and Trump torpedoed that.
The shows and food got too expensive.
Biden made everything expensive.
Aren't Dems just the best?

This and the business model is obsolete.
Their main revenue source is slots which are essentially video games that you can play anywhere on your IPhone or IPad.

Since 2024?
Hmmm... An artifact of the all the free money thrown around during COVID. People got spoiled and charged whatever they thought they could get away with. Now there are lots of empty hotel rooms and restaurant tables in some locales while prices remain high. They'll be some settling out eventually.
Recruit Calaradahns en masse with lower meth prices
Just as information July tourism was way down in Las Vegas. However, gaming revenue on the strip was up over 5.6%

We need a Biden-esque politician to firehose some more free money into everyone’s pocket
