So,so sad to see. Who knows how long he has used doping in his career?
Many years ago I chat with him and he wanted me to coach him. Just right after that agreement he told he had joined the Hansons and he had to follow their coaching.
Now this he was busted for doping I'm of course glad I never coached him ......
Back to a previous thread. Should the coach be suspended and take on some of the fault?
Only if the coach knew about the doping going on I think...
What's needed is that there must be a deep investigation when a runner gets busted for doping to find out if not only the runner ' participated' in the doping.
Who is his coach? He's been off the hansons for several years, I think 2020 trials was about his last year there.
Shadrack’s coach is John Mansoor, the same guy that propped him up for the UC Davis position. Shadrack has now followed in his HS coach’s (Eddie Hellebuyck) footsteps.

Drew Petersen - Track and Field Coach - UC Davis Athletics
A 2013 UC Davis alumnus and a four-year letterwinner in both cross country and track & field, Drew Petersen returned to the Aggie program??in 2018 to serve as a volunteer
Re Biwott: He has no presence on the UC Davis coaching staff. As of 2025, cross country fall season. Head coach is a former Zimbabwe long jump Olympian.
There have been some questionable connections with coaches and athletes since his high school days. Also wonder about his brother Duncan, who surprised with a 2:04 in Rotterdam after being a mid-level road racer in the US.

All the now broken links that has his name previously on their website saying he’s a coach would say otherwise.

Propping someone up for a college coaching position while they know they are going through drug arbitration is wild.
If he actual did EPO, someone like this needs to come totally clean or be deported.
We should make citizenship conditional on continued good behavior. This is theft.
I want to know when he started doping, where he got it from, etc. The crazy thing is I don't see anything wild about his results.
I mean his marathon pb is 2:12:01. Admittedly that was pre-super shoes and in NYC. But I'd hope a two-time NCAA xc guy on EPO could run a lot faster than 2:12. So I assume he wasn't on it then and just used it to try to hang on a bit longer?

Hard to say. A coach should probably notice an an outside the norm improvement even in training. Maybe they thought they were just doing a great job coaching and he was a Kenyan responding significantly to their sessions?

I feel strongly that he needs to tell how he got it, and where it comes from. Follow the money.
