I can lowkey see Valby thriving in this group......idk why. Coburn, Jennings, etc. seem much more her vibe. I know people have their things to say about Bosshard but he lowkey reminds me of Palmer.
Before she picks a training group she needs to decide if she wants to continue her career as a worldclass athlete. I'm not so sure she is motivated to make the transitionn from a collegiate runner. That's OK, if she bails. She can get on with the rest of her life.

Of course she’s going to want to continue competing and improving. Being a world class runner is far more exciting than going on with the rest of her. If you had her talent you would bail?

No, but I’d say that about Athing Mu too.
If one was going to make a case for Valby hanging up the spikes, it would be frustration over injuries, but with Mu, what makes her so unmotivated is a complete mystery.

I don't think it's a complete mystery. She's talked a lot about the pressure she feels and the anxiety that comes from it. I don't think she minds the training part of it but doesn't like the pressure of expecting to win every time out.
As someone who has dealt a lot with panic attacks over the years, I get it - I want to do whatever I can to avoid situations where they are triggered.

By thriving you mean only getting lapped once right?
I hope I’m wrong but I don’t think Valby is going to have a successful career wherever she goes
Define "successful career." She is an Olympian already. That is more successful than probably at least 95% of US pro distance runners. In fact, she is the youngest US 10000m runner ever and the 4th youngest ever at longer than 1500m - O'Brien: Marathon (1 year younger), Huber: 3000m (about 7 months younger), and Coburn: Steeple (about a month younger). She will make quite a few future US teams. Will she ever medal? Who knows. But you do not need to be on the podium at the Olympics to have a "successful career."
I am defining successful as relevant on the world stage. No US women is currently relevant above 1500m. And really only Nikki is there and they aren’t a women so not sure how to count them

That is not Valby. Maybe you are thinking of someone else, like Tuohy.
When Valby was crushing it in the NCAA, in her interviews, I don’t recall her once talking about pressure and anxiety from it. Not once.

So provide the link, or recant.
My mistake, I think; after reading your post again, you were probably referring to Mu.

What do you think the word “lowkey” means?
What do you think it means? It's a word now that kids insert into sentences even if it doesn't apply. It's become slang and almost sarcasm at some points.

I would associate panic attacks with race day and probably the worst case ever was Fernando Mamede. He set a 10000m WR before the 1984 Olympics, but dropped out in the Oly final after running a 14:20 with the pack. If he had stayed in the race, no one could have beaten him besides maybe Cova. The front windows of his shoe store in Lisbon wouldn’t have been broken, either.
For Mu, it seems like her racing difficulties are from a lack of fitness and I don’t see someone suffering panic attacks just from going out to train.

So in your eyes, no US woman competing in 5000m+ has a successful career?
You would argue that Elise Cranny, Karissa Schweizer, Weini Kelait, Alicia Monson, et al don't have successful careers?

Correct. Not at the international level. They are not relevant. They are good at the national level.
