51.76 for a final lap in a 5000m is FAST. How many times have we seen a sub-52 final lap in a 5000m?
Farah did a 50.89 final lap in Gateshead 2013 (finishing time was 14:10.00)
And Lagat did an otherwordly 51.6 in a 12:59.22 race in London 2006. The race is on Youtube (in bad resolution) and the clock says 51.94 (but Lagat wasn't leading at the bell/4600m, so you have to subtract the margin he's behind the leader at the bell, away from the final lap time displayed on the screen. Bekele wasn't too bad in that race either, he did 13:00.04 with a 52.7 final lap.)
Other close ones includes:
Noureddine Morceli in Zurich 1994: 13:03.85, with a 52.0 final lap
Mo Farah in Zurich 2014: 14:05.82, with a 52.22 final lap
Kenenisa Bekele in Stuttgart 2006: 13:48.62, with a 52.28 final lap (Rare finishing time from Bekele, he almost never went slower than 13:20 in the 5000m)
Are there any other 5000m races with sub-52 final laps that I'm missing?
