Definitely a source of inspiration for runners who have had plenty of obstacles to overcome including Father Time, to keep at it and not throw in the towel when results don’t look so good.
At this point, you'd have to subscribe to USATF.tv ($13 for a month; $10 if you're a USATF member) to watch the replay. Of course, as was much complained about on the main thread, including by me, you'd get very little of the race because they bafflingly showed very little of it, focusing on the women's long jump despite that USATF had a separate field-events stream. But you'd get the last 5 laps or so.
I was going into my senior year of high school XC when she got that bronze. Emily showed up at Nike Portland XC a couple months later to do autographs. I convinced her to write "sorry, Molly!" on my mine, though she was hesitant. It still lives on my wall 10 years later!
Unpopular opinion but did Cranny let Emily win? I've watched the race a few times and Cranny let Emily pass her too easily. Also, Cranny has the better kick so it just seems like she let her go too easily. Maybe a pity win since Cranny was already going to Tokyo?

They are best buds...maybe they had an "arrangement."
