I think that we’re seeing a lot of attrition in 2025 from the vets, due to five straight years of trials and global championships. Not surprising. It’s been a lot since COVID.
Now if we could just get him to stop posting stupid effing baseball photos with captions about how he’s such a baseball star. Eye roll. Emotionally immature and one of those people who has to make up haters so that they can “stick it to them”. I wish him the best but I think his career will begin to wind down on the track. This would’ve been one of his last chances to make a worlds team tho and I don’t expect him to be on the team in LA 2028. Too bad because it seems like the legal issues really played a part in this.
I certainly wasn’t expecting him to make it, and I hope he gets his off-the-track stuff in order and the allegations are false. Now it feels like Kenny B, Trayvon and…? Jordan Anthony maybe.
Trayvon is the favorite. Kenny and Christian Coleman are question marks because of minor injuries, but expect both of them in the top 3 if they are reasonably healthy. After those 3 men it is up for grabs.

I just scrolled through his Instagram page, and I agree the baseball stuff is weird. Looks like he’s pursuing a career in baseball. He’s tagging MLB in videos of him practicing, and he has a post that states: “Life lately… one foot on the track, one hand on the bat.”
Overall, it’s clear Kerley has been going through a lot. He’s got the legal issues, he recently converted to Islam, and he’s posted the following in recent weeks:
A photo of him and his deceased sprinter friend, Shavez Hart, with the caption: “I miss you fr… it’s been real heavy on me down here lately. Just trying to hold it together.”
A photo of him wearing a cowboy hat with the caption: “This ain’t just a hat - it’s a crown carved in dust and struggle.”
A photo of him on a motorcycle with the caption: “At war with myself, but I trust Allah is guiding me through the chaos.”
Seems like it’s a good idea for him to take time to get his life sorted. Even if he never wins another global championship medal, he’s had a fantastic career.
oh i thought he was christian but i guess not. Hopefully he gets his problems sorted out.

I think he was but has change to Islam? It is curious how someone can praise God one moment after they win a race and then the next moment praise Allah. Maybe Kerley needed to change gods to get back to his winning ways, just like when athletes change coaches after a season of losing.

Might be the end of Kerley competing in the front for US sprinting. He had a rough year, and he's getting pretty old for a sprinter, 30 now will be 31 for next year's outdoor season. It'll be that much harder to get back to a good place next year. If he was still running 9.9 this year then it'd be reasonable he can linger there for another year or two, but he was pretty far off his best already this year.
I was curious what happened to his brother My'lik, always thought he could have gone pro. So I looked him up and he was arrested for attempting to trade meth for an assault rifle 6 months ago! Insane. Not sure how i missed this thread: https://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=13275615
What happened -- did he assault someone, again, and got himself arrested, again?
Question--is it possible that because of the incident at the hotel before the GST meet in Miami/Miramar, that the woman he punched in the face (who is competing at the USATF meet) has a restraining order, and that he's not allowed to be anywhere near her?
