Sydney does not have an auto selection because she did not win in 2023.
US athletes with auto selections are: Lyles 100 and 200, Holloway 110H, Crowser shot, Richardson 100, Moon pole vault, Jackson shot, and Tausaga discus
I have been looking for her entry. It is interesting this minor injury has apparently kept her out for 5 months now, while she managed to get back to pretty top form in college after 2-3 months following injury.
Dad says she’s training so she’s hiding a bigger injury, a lagging injury or lack of fitness.

NB and Mr. Valby need to get in front of this by giving an update on Parker's situation. If she's injured, ok, then send out an update. By not being upfront and being secretive only creates more speculation and controversy. She's making a lot of money, and has a considerable fan base. There's is a responsibility of a high profile athlete like Parker to update her status. If NB and her dad choose to go dark, it will only feed the rumor mongers.
The New Balance Boston situation is pretty weird. Mackay and MacLean left even though they have had great results. Valby vanished after a strong opening race this year. ESP is pregnant of course, but she has been dead silent. And as far as I know, Mark Coogan hasn't made any public comments.
An injury might be 'minor' but if it never heals then you can't train properly. Maybe it's something relatively small but it just won't go away or keeps flaring up.
Valby has raced a grand total of once as a pro. I can't imagine New Balance is too happy with their investment. They will probably give her another year since she dominated in the NCAA. Whether silent ban, injury, or whatever, its just bizarre to go completely radio silent and not even promote her sponsor. 6 weeks ago she posted that she had a foot injury, had been cross training, and expected to be racing again soon. At this point she should be thinking about some fall road racing.

I agree they are probably feeling like they got completely hosed. It would be one thing if she was actively using her social media following to promote NB, going to events, etc., but she's not. They paid her all that money and for what? So she could buy a McMansion in Gainesville and post bikini thirst traps from the beach?
I did. My therapist said that it is healthy to root for and against teams and athletes that I don't know. I am now all in on Parker and completely against Tuohy. Their personalities made the decision an easy one.
Meet and greet with youth track team, a PR in her Pro debut (some pros go YEARS without a PR, can you think of one?), a 25-minute interview with Quincy Wilson for Citius, a couple days with the young runners in the New Balance Nationals at Franklin Field ... seems to be doing a lot for NB. Once her injury heals, she will tear it up on the track again. I think NB is quite happy with their Olympic 11th-place finisher. Shoe brands are not happy with the runners who never make US teams.
