We'd have to see if that was even serious, as it could mean multiple things. Did he actually punch Jakob? They didn't have any evidence to prove that. From the tv show, it seems most likely that he was really overbearing, but also very wrapped up in their well-being and achieving their ends. Had he just known when to back off, he'd still be their coach.

I think its one of those things that they accepted when they were younger because they really didnt understand anything different. Then when they got older they questioned the relationship but also possibly knew that his strictness possibly kept them out of trouble as much as it limited them.
They got to a point somewhere down the line when they wanted more control and they pushed back and used the courts as a way to irrevocable untie them from their dad.
Dosent mean hes a monster, just a dad who got something really wrong in the quest for success.

Of course not. Jakob and his brothers wouldn’t have had half their achievements without Gjert. He sacrificed for them. He supported them. He guided them.
If he is entirely innocent and gets the credit for raising champions, shouldn't he also get the blame for raising so many psychopaths who want to put him in prison for no reason at all?

I am glad this was the result because I think it means that neither party will appeal the verdict. The court stated that the siblings had given credible testimony, but that it can not be proved without doubt that Gjert did what he was accused of. At the same time he is convicted for the towel incident, giving a sort of victory to both sides.
I still think that Gjert is at fault for this circus, had he cared about his kids more than his own ego he would have stepped down as a coach for a few years and kept his reputation clean. The brothers has given him every chance to walk away from this as a decorated and respected coach, but he choose to get dragged through the mud with open eyes because he is a narcissist.

He didn’t choose to have his name dragged through the mud. He just wanted to continue coaching. He discovered he has a gift for coaching. Why shouldn’t he be allowed to coach other runners if that’s what he wants to do?
The trial wouldn’t have happened if Jakob, Henrik and Filip weren’t so greedy and petty about Gjert coaching Narve.
Gjert wasn't "cleared of charges". He was found not guilty of the charges in respect of Jakob on the basis of reasonable doubt. That isn't a finding of innocence.

Yea, it feels pretty grey. Seems like he more or less got what he derserved which was a slap on the wrist. Im still waiting for the list of all this abuse though?
