Why would he make a video about what you eat in a day?
Because running fans like us will watch it with interest.
Because he’s a content creator now and if he’s hurt then he has to go with other go-to’s and this is one of them. A day in my life, what I eat in a day, weight training, travel, watch me get a hipster tattoo, etc.
He had meatballs and couscous with veggies for lunch, didn't you pay attention?;) The dinner was the grilled stuff.
Oops, my bad. Sorry. Yes, that's a full day of eating.
Btw, nutritionists in France recommend not more than 500 grams of meat per week, with some at 300-|350 grams. Jakob appears to eat that amount in one sitting.
To avoid future prostate problems, when he retires, Jakob would be advised to severely control and reduce the meat intake.
I was waiting for that jar of Nutella to appear, but it never did. Is Jakob hiding something?
Meat is the healthiest thing you can eat. Can we stop repeating these myths already when there is zero credible studies and science behind it? His ancestors in that whole region survived almost entirely on meat, as did any humans in history with cold winters.

A number of studies have shown a link between increased consumption of red meat and an increased risk of colon cancer. Dietary changes and regular exercise are the best options for reducing one'...
Good evidence to show probable link between frequent meat consumption on colorectal cancer and prostate cancer.
I travel regularly to India, btw, and prostate cancer there is very rare among the 30% or more of vegans and vegetarians. Many studies, peer referenced, showing this.
The Harvard paper, above, is old, from 2008, but I suspect still relevant and pertinent today.
It's difficult to get consensus. Spoke to a vegan today, who told me that cheese and eggs were the worst things you can eat....yes, worse than meat, in his opinion. Go figure.. so many viewpoints, so much confusion....
The Dutch, among the leanest people in Europe. Far leaner than British people, in general. Doesn't hurt that bicycle use is a favoured means of travel and commuting....think...always burning calories, pre meal and post prandial.
I treat these videos like gold. To live in a time where we get to see the lifestyle and hear free advice from the best of the best!
are people in love with this dude? who cares what he eats. so weird.
Jakob I. is arguably the best m.d. runner of all time at 1500/3000. The 7:17 he ran last year elevates his status to quasi stratospheric mythical level. Monster Jakob.
And now we have Monster Andreas Almgren (1:45/12:44/59+), but Andreas is less likely to win major championships, imho.

I work in epidemiology at a cancer hospital and the 2005 paper cited in that article from Harvard is a bit dated. The jury is still out on red meat and colon cancer, though the link between processed meat and colon cancer is looking more and more bulletproof (mostly due to N-nitroso compounds causing damage to tumor suppressor genes). It seems that certain cooking methods like grilling and smoking may produce PAHs and HCAs which are also DNA mutagens. But cruciferous vegetables have a significant protective factor against colon cancer, so if you’re eating a balanced diet you’re likely at a net neutral risk for colon cancer.
Where is the plug for LMNT or AG1? After all, running influencers have led us to believe that these are "vital elements" of their success - with honorable mentions to Factor meals, Chomps beef sticks, and BetterHelp.
is it just me or did that look like too little amount of food for someone running twice a day and over 100 miles a week?
I thought about this, and what we don’t know was the quantity of meat, fruit, and potatoes he ate with dinner. He may have had a very large portion. He is also injured atm and not running. He did a pool workout in this video - maybe that takes less calories than when he is running normally?
Personally, I think it seems to be enough, although I’m sure someone will counter and say he isn’t eating enough and that’s the cause of him getting injured.
