This is more in line with what happened with Ryan Shay at the Olympic Trials, or with Kemoy Campbell at Millrose.
Kipsang was an incredible athlete to watch in his prime. It was fun to watch him break the collegiate record in person.
I do know he joined Drew Hunter‘s group after college but was removed due to alcohol issues and he also was given whereabouts ban for three missed test.

It may be a crass thing to point out, however the signs are that this has the hall marks of a doping related death - Kenyan, distance runner, young, heart-related.
And for those anti doping zealots if this persists it'll speed up the process of how seriously the governing bodies take doping. The deaths of a number of cyclists was pretty much the only reason that sport decided to clean up its act in the 90s and 2000s, it's disappointing but it's reality.
