The430Miler built a backyard track over a decade ago. It wasn't standard. He built it by running back and forth, bouncing off the block walls, in his mom's backyard. Running back-and-forth not only killed the grass forever, but it packed the dirt down to create a solid, cleat-friendly, perfect running surface! His dream became reality when he ran a mile in under 4:30 on his track. Sadly, his post about that incredible accomplishment was removed by someone at LRC.
As a former Texas resident this doesn’t surprise me at all. Texas School districts are run like the mafia and the money thrown around is crazy. It would make a great documentary series.
Why does a school district need an indoor track when that’s not a high school sport in Texas? Who’s building it and how are they connected? This is a district with 2-3 high schools!
Meanwhile teacher pay is down, academic standards are falling state wide, Gov Abbott is holding billions of public school money hostage until he gets his tax payer funded private schools in place.
