18th in the west regional with a 28:59? Same runner who broke 28 with a 27:48 earlier this season, guess he is a time trial merchant.
You may want to look at the top times in that race, then check the temperature and humidity at race time.
It was a qualifying race and It’s very likely the top guys ran any harder than they had to. He really did run a bad race for him, but it wasn’t a career definer for him.
