It was announced on Norwegian news today (NRK1) that Jakob will not compete at the Bislett Games, but his season opener will be in Ostrava. I take that as a green flag. They're only 12 days apart (June 12th and June 24th). If he "only" needs 12 days extra preparation, then it can't be too bad.
There were a lot of speculations last year (before the season even started) if Jakob's season would be ruined. I'd say that wasn't the case (the 1500m final in Paris might not have turned out the way Jakob hoped, but that was due to tactis and not an injury). I'd say he delivered significantly better last year than many were fearing at the start of the season. He seems to know what he's doing, even in times like these. Best of luck to him this season.
I read that article and it merely said he’s scheduled to run in Ostrava. I would be shocked if he runs there, and I bet he’s aiming to open in London. Flying to Eugene to compete on 4 weeks of running doesn’t make much sense.
