lol our half record was 59:40s until a couple months ago. for how little a 25k is run, this is probably at least as "impressive"
and by at least as impressive, I mean NEITHER ARE IMPRESSIVE
edit: i should clarify that I think it's an excellent result for Clinger at this stage in his very early pro career.
just not impressive when looked at in the context of a record.
I've got a decent chance at doing "okay" after graduating HS, sub 9 3200----we'll see how it all plays out and if not, I'll have a 4 year degree to rely on for work.
BUT.....I'm glad you aren't my coach as I don't think you know what impressive is and if you were my coach, I probably wouldn't have even broken 9:20.
Terrible take on a great race from Clinger. And...I don't believe you are a high school coach, but if I'm wrong, you must be an awful motivator for your runners.
The problem is that all Mormons have a short pro career in the marathon.
No Eyestone athlete including himself have ever broke 2:12 after 32 years old. It falls off fast.
The funny thing is that you picked two arbitrary parameters, breaking 2:12 and the age of 32. Both are completely arbitrary.
And you STILL didn't do the research to ensure your claim with the parameters that you yourself set was true. Jared Ward ran 2:11:44 in Berlin 2023 at the age of 35.
It's really somewhat impressive. You both got to choose the time cutoff and the age cutoff out of thin air, and yet you still missed.
Are you okay with a lack of cinder tracks these days or nah? Innovations happen and this isn't the 10th time and won't be the last. Cars are a bit nicer than horses and also much faster.
Separately and more importantly, each of us needs to repent and believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ in order to escape eternal separation from God, subject to His wrath for eternity. We are all sinners in need of a Savior.

No soliciting.
Soliciting? No, he was Bible bashing. Know your interfaith passive-aggressive dialogue, you heathen.
It really wasn't that impressive. Clinger (smartly) just drafted off Klecker until the last mile-ish. Klecker fell off after Klinger made his move and impressively recovered to take second from Bor. In the words of Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Klecker works too hard.

I see, so the 1500 Olympic medalists ran smart, but we know who was most impressive on the day. Klecker and Ingebrigsen impressively leading the competition to new heights. 🤝

You do realize this was run on the roads right an not a track? Or do you want to argue that today’s road technology is bouncier than old road technology? That way you can justify inflated bouncy shoe times because “rUniNng TeCh iS alWaYs eVolviNg.”
