there is no such thing as talented in running. You either run fast or you don't. Every component of it happens for a reason.
You may not know the reason - then you call it "talent." But in fact, it was the food you ate, what you did growing up, how your nervous system developed to move you around. How well your liver and other internal organs work.
It's not your genotype - that's like a "winning hand" at pinochle. No such thing. You play the cards the right way if you want to win. Genes are played epigenetically, switched on and off at the right times according to nurture.
Nobody knows entirely what environment leads to the best runner, but it's not inborn talent. There are elite runners of all sorts. Tall ones, short ones, stocky ones, skinny ones. Ones from every part of the world, from the lowlands, from the highlands, some rich, some poor. Some eat nothing but ugali and others eat nothing but fish.
