The women's 5K also looks competitive though I have heard that Hartman has been injured a bit. I have no idea about the type of injury and I am not even sure that I heard an accurate report.

Hartman (nor anyone for NC St) is no longer listed in W 5000. She remains in 1500 along with Napolean and also 4x1500. I don't see Rauber listed anywhere.
If the lineup holds, UW W 4x1500 is there to take the meet record.
At their best they could run 16:40, maybe faster. At their best NC State could go low 16:40s as could Providence. 4:10 is no longer super fast. The slowest legs for these teams could be 4:15 or faster and they all have some much faster than 4:10..

That lends a bit of credence to what I heard that Hartman may be nursing some sort of an injury or niggle. However, that may not be the case if she runs the 1500.

Washington looks to be the team to beat. I mentioned Hartman possibly having an injury. I am also wondering about Gapes. Bush also seems to not be in form yet and Putnam is a bit of an unknown to me. TFRRS shows her 1500/mile PRs to be 4:15 & 4:38. She will need to run substantially better than that for NC State to have a chance of winning. Providence could be the sleeper to beat UW though in reality it may not be a huge surprise.

Washington will likely have to rally with Foerster and O'Sullivan. Maatoug is much better indoors than outdoors. That has been partially forgotten because she missed outdoors last year.
It already showed up at Bryan Clay. Maatoug and Foerster were finishing side by side throughout indoors. As soon as they switched outdoors Foerster finished 7 seconds ahead. Maatoug has run 4:08 indoors but her personal best outdoors is 4:11.88.
Plus she'll have the 5000 in her legs from Thursday. She'll want to get a good qualifying time at 5000 because she might not make it at 1500.
Loaded? Andrews isn’t a miler anymore and I wouldn’t consider the rest of the women’s field big names either. All the elites are running Drake or the USATF mile or other meets coming up. They couldn’t care less about Penn.

Most of the top women milers don’t typically run at Penn. that’s why the 1500 record is a pedestrian 4:04

I believe the "loaded" comment (title) referred to the college distance relays.

Andrews days are numbered. Not sure why she’s wasting her time in a mile race. Other than the fact that she’s entering a race without the top milers so she can at least make podium. Never runs well when the competition is tough. Miss Time Trial

Hartman wins 1st heat of 1500 in 4:07 seems healthy to me - 2:09 for last 800.

But she fessed up to some sort of quad flair up recently.
Just listened to the clip above. She’s also going to pace the first 3k of the 10k tonight. Her quad flair up must be doing ok. It will be interesting to see what she ends up focusing on in the post season. A big range there from the 1500 to the 10k. The interviewer joked about the steeple but with her height she could probably do it.
