Unless she received a waiver for 2024 outdoors (after she competed in the Bryan Clay Invitational), Ceili McCabe has used up all of her outdoor (and for that matter collegiate) eligibility.
According to tfrrs, she ran unattached at Bryan Clay last year.
For sure, but with Outdoor Champs and World Champs months away, I'd hope completing a (debut) collegiate 5k as strength work wouldn't throw her off track. In past seasons, McCabe raced the first-of-five NCAA steeples in April.

Well, it would be a first for her.
Her first 5k, yes. However her outdoor racing schedule unfolds, I don't doubt she is sharply focused on the 3000SC. In the post-race interview at Va Beach, she was already looking forward to the challenge awaiting her, specifying 9:12 as the base level of fitness needed to get it done at Outdoor Nats.
I would think unlikely as the 5,000 immediately precedes 10,000 on the preliminary schedule and the fast heat is probably the last heat (it was last year)
Well, Hartman is not shown in 5000 start list, but rather in the 10,000 Invitationals so I guess that answers that.

The weather should be favorable for running fast times. She can probably check off 10k as an NCAA qualifier, then chill or focus on shorter distances or team relay events.

I must be looking at a different start list. I see her in section 10 for the 5k.

Yeah, she was focused on the Olympic steeplechase and repping Canada last year.
Faith Duncan of D3 Wilmington in Ohio will surprise some of the D1 women.
Duncan won the D3 National championship in the 5k & 10k last fall and was the national championship in XC. She also won the 3k & 5k at the D3 national indoor championships a few weeks ago. Her PR in the 10 is not impressive but she should drop it quite a bit on Friday.

It doesn't appear to be a very prestigious meet. They have 16 heats of the 1500 men's and the entry standard for women's javelin was 40m and had a few throw 26m. Sound like a money grab and anyone can enter.
i dont think theyd setup an invitational 10k to simply run a 33:00. Id imagine Morris is pacing and there are multiple sub 33 runners in the field.
It's March, we haven't even had baseball opening day, or the Masters yet. It's the Raleigh Relays with 100s of heats.
Even Tuohy only ran 32:57 in her first and only 10000, to win ACC meet and get a never used regional q.
We'll see. You are right in that there is a decent field.
I understand its early but Hartman ran 32:28 in this same race last year. I dont know why she'd run slower, especially considering there will likely be others attempting to PB and go well under 33:00
