How do you not see that this is a troll post targeting Florida, i.e., Valby's alma mater? And we all know what jealous group CONSTANTLY targets every team she is associated with. Haven't you noticed all of the recent attacks on New Balance Boston?

Would be nice if this site followed the developments of this situation more. Maybe even put together a list of schools that do NOT opt in. The new deadline is now in June from my understanding.
It's not a troll post. It was posted in a Facebook group called "Parents of College Athletes" anonymously and has over 200 comments. I'm not the OP of that post, so I can't answer any follow up questions bc it's not my kid. The OP did say the kids who were cut are allowed to run one race during spring track and then have to clear out lockers. It also seems the OP means they lose their scholarship for next year not the spring. That's all I know but I'm sure someone can find the FB group and confirm. I don't know who posted it or which school only that it's SEC

Sure, sure. So the “man/woman coach team,” “man wouldn’t look at athlete while texting,”; then the story changes to it’s the head coach at fault. The discourse is changing, but it’s a ‘private group’ link that rojo will likely not and conveniently not fact check, instead of just letting the rumors fly around innuendos.
I don't think you're understanding that those are all c&ps of someone's post and subsequent comments. It's not my story. Fact check away, I posted to find out of anyone knew more about what happened. My gut is the discrepancies are bc it's from a college athlete's recounting it to a parent. I also think college athletes right now who are getting cut are scared to speak out bc they need to transfer and the only way to find out what's happening with roster cuts is with anonymous posts.
What you may fail to understand is that this situation is possibly going to provide opportunities for some schools to actually upgrade their rosters with transfers; there consequently may be “anonymous” dispelling comments against the competition from some parties.

Somebody is not telling the truth. The SEC requires 4 year scholarships and athletes who get cut due to scholarship limits will continue their scholarships.
My school (Big 12, so not exactly the same) is planning to do scholarship buyouts for cut players due to roster caps. Basically, they say "you can either stay at this school and keep your scholarship but not be on the team, or you can transfer and we will cut your money"
The athletic dept is on the hook for those 4 year contracts, not sure how they're gonna pay it but they legally have to. I have to imagine most power 4 schools are doing similar.

Because if they were to actually name a team, then they could be fact-checked and held liable for lying!

No one was cut today that will happen at the end of the semester.
The reality is there is a lot of dead weight in our sport. For years it’s been used as an accounting tool for the athletic department to balance numbers, graduation, APR, GPA.
Those days are gone. Goodbye massive rosters where the back half work your Highschool meet and run at the home meets.
