And now???
And now???
I can remember Univ. of Texas setting the WR in 9:25 with Leo Manzano on the anchor. How things have changed.
You get to 9 flat with
1200: 2:45 (55/lap)
400: 45
800: 1:45
1600: 3:45
The US could put this together with Kessler/Hall/Hoppel/Hocker, or Hocker/Hall/Kessler/Nuguse -- if everyone executed perfectly.
I found this race so annoying to watch. I get that pacers helped keep the A squad competitive but just seeing all those Washington teams pacing every stride until the last 400, for a team more than capable of just soloing an NCAA qualifier was a total eyeroll. I remember when the 2015 Oregon team ran a late season DMR in Washington and basically solo’d the 1600 leg and ran an NCAA lead. Talented teams can run fast no matter what. All the excess pacing was overkill. Sorry for the rant but the dramatic amount of pacing just pissed me off for some reason lol.
