A few days ago Conner and Clayton did a fast speed workout of 12 x 400 then 10 x 200. Conner went as fast as 26 flat in his 200s
Yesterday Clayton ran 4 x 2 miles whereas Conner hasn’t updated his Strava in two days
Obviously Conner is hurt from racing his workouts and this just goes to show how much better training like klecker’s is which prioritizes aerobic development and not racing workouts
Sooooooo.... You're questioning the coaching/training knowledge of a 2 x Olympian and NCAA Champion as an athlete, Coach of 26+years at BYU, Coach of the reigning NCAA X-C team Champion (2 x), the Coach of the reigning Olympic Silver Medalist in the steeple chase, Coach of 2 Olympic Marathoners, Coach of countless NCAA All-Americans in track and X-C, Coach of multiple Olympic and World Championship track and X-C athletes, why should I or ANY knowledgeable track/X-C fan listen to you?
We all anxiously await your response, if you have one.

He often doesn't post awhile before a big race. He may or may not be injured. I always think he is injured when he doesn't post so bothers me when he doesn't post but it's his choice. I wondered about that workout though and hope he isn't injured and has just gone quiet.
Morgan McDonald is injured and he's been doing the exact same training as Klecker
What does that have to do with Mantz running all out 200s?
Where's your evidence that those 200s were all-out? Or that it was even a "fast speed workout."? That looks like a boilerplate run-of-the-mill workout to me.
Have you ever run a half marathon? Don't be shy, answer the effing question?
Running 26 flat 200s are necessary to race a half marathon?
Now it goes from "as fast as 26s" to "26 flat 200s" and finally "all out 200s." Make up your mind, kid? Is that your final answer, or do you need a lifeline from a grownup?
The workout is neither necessary for a HM, nor is it directed to any specific race at all. It's all part of the bigger picture. What he does today will benefit him months down the road. Are you even capable of seeing the big picture at all?
How about this, why don't you pay attention to whats going on? Take notes if you need to. You certainly don't have the answers. If you did you wouldn't be anonymous, would you?

This is ridiculous. Even Keira D’Amato runs 28s and 29s at the end of her track workouts. To say Conner mantz is dumb for running 200s is unbelievable. part of training is taking risks and going for it: people often get injured it’s part of the game
His last 800m pr was 2014 (Mantz is already 28 now!), 1:56.8, but he ran a 3:37.9 in 2023. So, 1500 race pace is 58.1/400m or 29/200m. He's running 26s (1:44-45 pace). That's a lot faster than his estimated 800m ability. It indicates he can probably run 50-51 400m. So, he's going no faster than 400m pace, probably a second slower. That's a pretty hard speed workout for him after a bunch of 400s. Injuries a fair likelihood at this time of year with that workout.

Wow please don’t swear at me. This makes me feel very uncomfortable not to mention unsafe

i'm sorry, how much better did klecker do in his olympic final vs mantz?
