I went to her Insta page and saw she came in 2nd in the 5th Ave mile in 2018. I didn't realize she was ever that fast - extremely impressive. Anyway, the 5000 m was obviously slow while also being way faster than I'll ever run.

She was an Olympian…
but don’t tell her any of that bc Jerry ruined her career 🙄
Big, strong, sturdy legs!
Hey good for her . Nothing wrong with still competing when you are past your prime . Do what you love

Quigley is one of only 12 American women (800m and up) to reach 1237 or higher on the WA Points table.

is she supposed to be good? why all the excitement over someone running a hobbyjogger time? she wouldnt even win a parkrun in england
I never found her hot
Too bad. Her career was greatly harmed by a DQ following a marginal violation at London World's in 2017. She did run an excellent 3k at Boston (8:28.71) in 2020 (following Schweizer and Houlihan). The 3K AR indoors is only 8:25.98 by Monson. All four of those runners have been sidelined in their prime.

She’s as woke as “they” come.
Bye bye 👋
“Admitting”..why does it matter? Influencers, when they actually influence, make WAY WAY WAY more money than olympic gold medalist distance runners. An “influencer” can make more money in one month than all running related monies any american distance runner makes in a lifetime.
But you are right the general public and hobby joggers and weekend warriors think her 5k is terrible….Oh wait, no they dont.
I’ll take it a step further. Any distance runner out there that is reading this. If you look like a Colleen or Parker, do everything you possibly can to be an influencer and take advantage of it. Do not rely on an American record to pay your bills. Be smart. Ignore all other advice on Letsrun. Promote yourself. Be an influencer. Let people on letsrun say “but she didnt get a medal” or whatever crazy nonsense they want to troll about. Use your brain. Look at your peers in running. Look at the history of running. Look at how much work you put in and what you get in return, besides that “satisfaction” of becoming a better version of self (eyeroll), and BE an influencer if you can.
To be frank she is only about 1 minute slower on 5k than the year where she ran 8:28.
For someone who has become more of a fitness influencer than anything else I think this is not a bad result.
