To my knowledge Mr. Vause has won ONE national championship.

One race in shocking conditions indicates a true mudder. Gonna need a more complete body of work before colleges come calling.

Josh Rohatinsky and that Stanford dude Abdi Nur never followed up on their 2014 NCAA x-c in mudder conditions.............fact!!!!!!!!!!!

Jane Hedengren would NOT have broke 17 in the boyz race............fact!!!!!!!!!!!

There’s usually only one big improvement from one year to next, during HS,so it’s not likely he’s just getting started.
He did run 4:12 as a sophomore and I’m thinking maybe he put in some serious mileage for the first time this summer.

4:12 as a hs soph is a very solid mark and show a lot of talent/potential...

What is lost in the discussion of altitude is that most places at altitude also are mountainous or at least quite hilly. Rio Rancho isn't in the mountains but it is really hilly. Hills on a XC course feel like nothing when your run-of-the-mill 8-mile run has 1000 ft+ of climbing.

you'd have to know his weight to make that determination. yes he looks big compared to his fellow athletes which could mean almost not skinny, could mean average weight
