Confirmed - Ian Curtis will be racing his first meet as a Saint this weekend. Evidently he and Skemp plan to bring the Ole Bicarb process to Duluth. Look for Calvin to run 3:42 this year!

Meanwhile, over in the Augsburg Dome, Mo is doing a chill 20 miler @ 5:40 pace. Indoor 5k is gonna feel like a warm up… could’ve had himself a casual Thursday indoor 2:29 marathon. What’s the conversion on that?

Things we learned this weekend -
Calvin hasn’t lost his speed in his old age.
Kubicek is very, very fit. If that track is as right as rumored his performances are even more impressive.
Trent Beseth is a man’s man.

Where is Skemp and others transferring?
How many Oles are jumping ship? Heard some of the 800 guys were irate about being under raced and having poor December performances. Are they also in the portal?

If I believed have the crap that was posted on here, Power would currently be fighting extradition to Indiana for bad coaching and Carleton would be looking to acquire Olaf assets at a fire sale following the school’s shut down after every student transferred out… meanwhile looks like just about everyone is still listed on roster… so?
(FYI, I early reported an unnamed Augsburg freshman was the favorite to win conference cc in 22. That 3 time cc champ and national runner up remains enrolled at Augsburg)
It’s Christmas Break, nobody has updated their rosters.
Skemp is going to Stout. Turlington is talking with La Crosse and the Gophers. Nemecek wants to ski. He’s actually the athlete transfering to St. Scholastica. That won’t help their DMR, but they could have a nice 4 x 800 outdoor. The biggest news I’ve heard is that Steve Peper just started grad classes at Hamline. They are trying to sort out his eligibility, but I hear he’s excited for the step up in coaching after his senior year when Power halfway coached Multis and distance and barely let his assistants do their job so he could claim an All-American.
Didn’t Power do the same thing with Lord? I’m still trying to sort out who he actually coaches and who he just claims credit for. I know the assistant that was the de facto head coach at St. Thomas writes most of the workouts for track. And no credit has been given to him either.
Fairly certain that’s why Connor left.
But in the spirit of Christmas and a Santa sized Ole Coach, Merry Christmas to you all. We’re so lucky to broke such a passionate conference with so many great people.
Skemp to Stout is huge. That will give them one of the best returning 10K groups in the country.
I’ll be very interested to see how Turlington progresses as a Gopher. Their number one rubber this Fall was a D3 guy and they obviously made Wilkinson a lot better. Can’t wait to see what they do with him.
There’s no evidence any of these transfers are happening.
Turlington to the Gophers is interesting. Getting a training partner like Goodman could be really good for him. I’m very surprised to see Skemp leaving as a senior, does have another year of eligibility? Or is he doing a masters in engineering? Otherwise I don’t see the point of going to a weaker program. I’d heard he was also interested in St. Thomas, but they are very middle distance focused.
So Power emailed his team today to say he won’t have email or phone access for the next week. Anyone else thinking he’s spending a week in jail? I bet he says he’s on a cruise or some ish like that.
MIAC thread hits a new low. Get a life or some help.
Nice day for a chill early 28 miles on the icy roads.
Gonna set MIAC records in every distance event above the mile/1500. May f around and run a 3 mile and 3200 too just for kicks. Larson wants to take every Ole record out of the books. Look for a 3K/5k double at the same meet in Jan to prove how easy that task will be.
