Not sure why she’s surprised, it’s the nature of the sport. Maybe Hoka could’ve gave her a lifetime shoe/gear deal, but to expect to be on the payroll after having how many injuries and no Olympic teams in the last few years is a bit ridiculous. Young kids are coming out of college and are more than willing ready to compete for pennies on the dollar compared to what Hoka is paying Kellyn and have a major developmental upside. Out of curiosity, I’m wondering who New Balance is going to cut or severely reduce to accommodate Parker Valby’s contract, it’s not like shoe companies have unlimited budgets for contracts like that.
