I will try to provide a link in the coming days because I don't have one now but it's big news in France that Amdouni is under Police control for violence and assault against his wife.
Amdouni, the Corsica native, of Tunisian origin, is denying the accusations, and is being ably assisted by his legal attorney.
Amdouni, who had to skip the Olympic marathon because of injury just a few days before the race, attempted to come back in the Paris 20 kilometer race but only posted a time of 1:00+ compared to a 57:00 best.
We wish him luck in his endeavours. Hopefully, there is no validity in the serious claims professed by his wife but we will have to see in due course.
We saw a few months ago that Jimmy Gressier was also accused of similar by his girlfriend at the National Sports Institute in Paris but that has basically been pushed under the carpet and Jimmy is as good as clean right now so there seems to be a trend in France with spouses often getting back to their husbands.
Not saying that this is the case here but we will have to see.
Amdouni is a controversial character but wife beater I think is a stretch.
Eff this guy. Seriously- when are we going to learn? He's the same guy with the Whatsapp messages talking about owing money for epo...the same idiot that knocked over EVERY single water bottle in Tokyo. I'm done with this POS.
And NO, we don't "wish him luck in his endeavours."
It means that he is not formally charged yet until the case is presented in a court and a judge makes his decision but it also means that he is not free of his movements a hundred percent and he is under the watchful eye of the French judicial system. This also usually means that he cannot travel abroad and has to inform the authorities about his movements. Is case will be presented in court on 24th of February 2025.
Are you surprised these men are known for this type of behavior. Too many of you become brain washed with the assumption he is a great athlete must be a great guy. The guy knocked over everyone's water bottles at the Olympics. You think he is treating his wife with respect at home? The guy is a garbage human being. Also, if he was actually assaulting his wife in that other manner French Prisons are not known for their luxuries, they are overcrowded and harsh and a lot of those men have not seen a woman in years and his 110-pound frame will fit the bill perfectly for them. They are going to pass him around like a frisbee and when they are not doing that, they are going to beat the crap out of him.

Sir, I think you're exaggerating greatly about the gravity of this case although obviously it is grave if he did what is alleged.
I also disagree with your assessment about how he might be treated in prison if it came to that, which I don't think it will
Also, a North African Muslim in prison Amdouni would find solidarity with other Muslims in prison in France who are per capita the largest majority.
Going by your last paragraph those kinds of things don't happen anymore in this day and age. Those types of Netflix scenarios are no longer the reality whether in France or anywhere else for that matter. If he were really in danger he would be put into protective custody.
Anyway, the main point is I don't think Morhad A. will ever be convicted because that would be very difficult to prove.
Amdouni is not the most popular character in French Athletics, but heinous criminal - he probably is not. People were saying the same thing about the star steeple guy, Mekhissi Benabad, a few years ago. Great exaggerations and hyperbole.

Throw Benabad in the same bin. Another complete @sshole in the sport. Also trained with Makhloufi under Dupont. I wouldn't even drink a glass of water after that guy for fear of coming up positive.
As the ARD doping editorial team reported on Thursday, Amdouni is said to have bought EPO and growth hormones. ARD quoted chat logs in which a seller demanded money from Amdouni. The 31-year-old, who also won bronze in the 5000 m at the European Championships in Berlin, decided at short notice not to take part in the World Championships currently underway in Doha.
"It's nothing, there are no facts," Amdouni told the French news agency AFP on Thursday evening: "I have nothing to do with it. I follow the rules." He hardly knows the person who sent him the message and has only seen them once: "When I received the message, I blocked them."
On Thursday afternoon, the French Anti-Doping Agency (AFLD) said in response to a request that it was "aware" of the allegations. Amdouni did not comment specifically on the allegations when asked by ARD.
Ghost comment:
There was no case and no follow up. It may have been a set up, a framing scenario. No substance, apparently. One or two years later, Amdouni ran that phenomenal 59:40 half in Gydnia, Poland, World Half.
Amdouni is enigmatic - so many rumours about him, but in a career spanning around 15 years, he's never failed testing. Just saying.
2020, World Half, Gydnia, Poland - in that race, Amdouni, 8th, first non African 59:40, just 19 seconds behind 4th placer Cheptegei, 59:21. Super impressive. When he's on song, Amdouni is a mega monster.
Running 2:03:40 in Spain this past February, with interrupted training over several months, through injury, showed his monster qualities. Dude's an absolute beast.
Let's focus on his athletic achievements, not his personal foibles.
Coevett can't tell the difference. He sees what the man looks like and already thinks he knows. Pretty typical of his kind.
It's widely known that 2nd and 3rd generation Muslim immigrants in Europe are often worse than the original generation. It's often said that 3rd and 4th generation Turkish Germans are more Turkish than the Turks. In fact Turks living in Turkey are often shocked by the behaviour and attitudes of Turkish 'Germans'. Turkish Germans who visit Istanbul or Anatolia are often met with racism. I imagine it's the same with French Mahgrabians.
Whether they were born in their host country or not, guys like this one and Katir demonstrate the truth of what I've said time and time again.

They don't protect you from predatory inmates. He is a sitting duck and if you think he is not have you ever done time?

You make some good points and with regard to the French North Africans, of which I have a lot of experience, having lived in France for many years, they are torn between identifying with their host country - France in most cases - where they were born, and the country of their ancestors - whether Algeria, Morocco or Tunisia.
We can understand why many of these people have psychological problems because they feel neither completely French and or neither completely North African Arab.
Living in the North of England now, I see many of the same problems with young Pakistanis who have this identity problem between England and Pakistan.

French prisons are notorious for their overcrowding, and yes, a 125 lb distance runner who acts tough and beats his wife may need to go into the vulnerable prisoners wing for his own protection, but to be honest, he might be less safe there.
BTW Ghost, sadly prison rape is a very real thing and not some urban myth, especially in the USA. It's a statistical fact that more men than women are raped in the USA, and it's almost entirely down to the prison system. Of course European prisons are not as notorious for that, but French prisons are among the most inhumane, and prison conditions throughout Europe are deteriorating due to overcrowding, as well as the increasing gang problems related to drugs, and Islamism.

Yes, but some countries, e.g. Netherlands, have seen prisons less than 50% capacity, with Denmark, Norway, Finland similar. In fact, Netherlands rents space to other countries' prisons. Sweden, unfortunately, close to full capacity prisons now.
