This will be an interesting record attempt for sure. I don't think Keira is a doper, but for her to break the record at her age and with that mileague on her? It will be quite the feat.
When is Kelati going to make her marathon debut? That I would love to see as well.

Kelati should make an incredible marathoner. With her diminutive stature and highly-economical form, I'd expect great things.

Same with Parker Valby.
JK. Just that this isn't a truly LetsRun thread without injecting Parker Valby in it lol!

Based on her recent training and racing data (Strava), I'd bet she is going to be a lot closer to 2:30 than 2:20, but we'll see.
Nike is writing a wonderful marketing story with this. Selfless gold medal winning man paces talented woman/mom/real estate agent/“second chance at running” woman to American record.
Centro gets to run a marathon without any pressure to lay it on the line and caps his career as a nice guy/mensch that supports women’s sports.
Centro seems to like Chicago. Wonder if h'ell work there full time upon official retirement.
Letsrun pulblished this when he was recovering from surgery: (2023)
"But the recovery would be long. He was not able to run on land until August 18, when he posted on his Instagram: “My knee and body felt like sh!t.” During his recovery, Centrowitz not only rehabbed his knee but also tried to broaden his skill set for the future. He took an internship in Chicago. He had taken a few business courses at the University of Oregon a decade ago. “It was in finance and business,” Centrowitz explained. “It was at a hedge fund. So, it was completely different than I was used to in my whole career.” He continued: “It was great. It took my mind off running. It was a competitive environment. It was a nice distraction when I couldn’t run.”"

idk how she is going to do and she is obviously getting older but she took a huge break of essentially no running to have kids/career/marriage and then was actually lower mileage than most women of her caliber (~70 miles per week only and at sea level).
now that's she's moved out to Utah she says Ed Eyestone has her running higher mileage than she has since 2021. Not sure how much it is but not like it's suddenly the 100-20 mpw many others do...
so maybe that's in her favor in terms of longevity but also she said she really could not get healthy this track season and still ran a respectable race at the 10000m Trials in Eugene. dropped out @20 in Orlando bc she was not prepared for the heat.
what's interesting is comparing her to Sara Hall who is ~2 yrs older and trains at high (and higher) altitude pretty much year round and has raced uninterrupted throughout her career (minus a stretch of injury a few years back that had her reworking her entire stride pattern) and had a strong 5th place showing at the Trials in Orlando.

If he is pacing at 5:15 pace he is not capable of going further than 30k. The only way he goes further is if they are slower than 5:15.
I understand that this board thinks that 1500 runners are capable of anything (see Jacob’s HM thread) so I expect several down votes.
you know he ran 13:00 for 5000 right?
i'm sure he's not in top marathon shape, but within about 3-4 months of focusing on any distance, he's faster than any woman in the world at any distance from 800-Marathon
if she runs away from him it's because he's been sitting on the couch
This feels too fast. This is faster than the pace she recently ran the 20K champs in.
New Haven is a bit hilly and usually oppressively humid. It’s not that uncommon for that to end up being your fall marathon pace if you’re in the middle of a buildup.

This reads like a post from a blowhard who didn’t do any research (check Strava, social medias, regularly watch Instagram stories, etc) but wanted to post a tough opinionated comment. 🤡
