At this point we all know your opinion that the only race that counts each year is the global OG/WC final, unless Jakob wins it. Then (2021), it's just "doping" and not deserved.
It's absurd to suggest the race that "counts" amongst these runners is a DL final and not an Olympic final. None of them would agree.
Let’s just come out and say it. Josh Kerr is clearly the better runner since he has a better half marathon PB. It’s no contest lmao. Ignore Jakobs better 1500m PB, 2 mile PB, 5k PB, 3k PB, 3 outdoor world records don’t really matter in this context anymore. Since Jakob couldn’t beat the best half marathoners in the world in an event he’s never ran before, 36 hours after toasting the best 1500m runners in the world, he’s just not really that impressive. God you guys are fvcking exhausting sometimes. Just say you don’t like the guy.

Who got "toasted" at Paris at his specialty event (and after by Nuguse), Prefontaine, and the two previous wc finals? It has nothing to do with likeability.

Nobody is implying that the DL final is the only race that counts. Unlike you I am able to attribute value to other races and feel no need to polarize every question. I don't neglect the value of the DL races during the season, the season as a whole has purpose. I agree that championships are the most important races during a season, but it's silly to give zero value to everything else. None of the athletes give zero value to the DL final (or other DL races). I assure you that everyone on the DL final start line had an intention to put down a good race, and Nuguse + Tim were definitely trying hard to win.

Clearly he is done, and so are all the other dudes who finished behind him. They should all retire. In fact; they should even change their names and move to different towns. Best to start over with a new life.

I don't give "zero" value to DL races, but the most important race of the year was the Olympic final. There, he came up badly short. The last race of the year pales into insignificance by comparison.

And yet, you continue to call Hocker, who won the Olympic final, a "one race wonder". Seems like you need to make up your mind on what makes a runner the best.

I don't recall using that phrase but to back up his Olympic win Hocker has to have other significant wins. That isn't incompatible with saying that Ingebrigtsen needs championship victories and not just DL wins or fast times to cement his position.
Kerr ran basically a couple 30 minute 10k's on a downhill course, which is a damn sight easier than running a 27:28 on a flat course and then jogging it in with a bunch of stops to a 1:03.
Jakob has as many Olympic 1500m golds as Hocker, but he also has an Olympic 5000m gold, two World 5000m golds, two World 1500m silvers, world records at 2000m, 3000m, 2 miles, and indoor 1500m, plus many DL victories, including at least three DL Final wins. His only problem is that he hasn't been able to serve as the sole pacemaker at World and Olympic 1500s and still win.

You can throw around as many medals as you like for a variety of distances but the fact remains he hasn't had a global championship victory in his key distance for over 3 years. That reduces his standing and claim as the best 1500/miler in his era.

How many times do you have to read "1500 m is not his key distance" before your rotting brain remembers it?
