Well done. This is correct.

Both works, but from the Swedish word/phrase "jävla" (and they were the same country up until 1905) would contextually be better translated to "one hell of a talent".

The US has phrases like "bat out of hell" and when Scandinavians use Hell it's usually like that, Hell that becomes the possesive (no pun intended) as it straight up would be "One Hell's talent".

It probably goes back to common folklore taking different paths as puritans moved across the pond while less strict reformation swept Northern Europe.

The phrase "When you speak of the Devil he's right behind you" has in Sweden become "When we speak of the trolls they're usually in the hallway/vestibule"

It's all usually close enough to be understood both ways whether you put the American need to f*ck everything up (pun intended, this time) or not. ;-)

Jakob is certainly more courageous than someone like Kerr, who rarely lines up against his fellow 1500 men.

I first learned the word jævla from a friend who was telling me about a speech he heard at a banquet. The speaker was described as "en gammel bonde fra Jæren kvem snakket veldig bredt" (an old farmer from Jæren who spoke very wide) by saying "jævla this and jævla that" throughout the entire 30min speech.

They're both professionals with a goal. Whatever way they try to achieve it isn't more or less courageous. Clearly Kerr has a strategy and that paid off pretty well for him in the Olympics. Hocker did too.

I think all the dudes in the 1500m are pretty top notch right now and that's why it's so exciting.
