Notice how he’s the only one running right on the very edge of his lane on the whole back straight. This isn’t just sloppy form or some subconscious thing he does when he gets tired, he’s totally planning on hooking them the whole time.
Agreed. This is about as bad as it gets and worse than the NCAAs

Yeah, another poster said this. it was blatant intentional cheating. It should be a news story.
In this video of the Olympic 400 hurdle final, you can see Ducos hook 3 hurdles in a row (from the 17 second mark until the 25 second mark). Ducos was DQ'd for hooking the hurdles at the NCAA meet. (His left foot goes around the side of the hurdle, instead of over it). He should have also been DQ'd at the Olympics (he got 4th). He is French though...
Yeah he's not going over those hurdles. It's quite impressive what he does - seems like the margin for error must be really small - but he's not going over those hurdles...
At 3:57, he can be seen hooking a hurdle. Most of the race is shot from angles that make it hard to tell if things are being done correctly or not. But officials on the scene saw cause for a DQ.
The addition of a short extension to the right hurdle leg would easily put an end to this nonsense. A plus would be to see the compulsive hookers getting tripped up
what i will say is this meet was reffed very loosey-goosey, there were giving yellows or greens for literal false starts during the 100 prelim round. they were calling the fields back if someone held up a last second arm or didn't break from the blocks.
WA needs to find some consistency on this. for the world indoors in the UK a few years ago, the eye in the sky was slapping around all sorts of runners with lane violations after the fact. ok, if we're doing that, catch this guy. or if it's loosey-goosey and enforcing an actual protest, then do that -- but each time.
If you don’t see it from the side you can’t tell if it is an actual hook. People say the same thing about Femke but never a dq. It’s just the way some hurdlers go over the hurdle.

I fully disagree. Look at that Olympic video. It’s a front view and its clear that he is hooking.

Femke only had trouble in 2022 when she was still using 15 steps and left lead all the way around. By her own admission she was getting too close to the hurdles. When it happened early race around the curve you had some people squawking that she was hooking, even though her foot was clearly above the barrier. Now that she's using 14 and leaping from further away you don't hear it anymore. For one thing, she uses her right lead on 2, which was one of the hurdles previously questioned.
This French guy isn't doing it on early hurdles around the bend. He is clearly gaming the system on the back straightaway during the middle of the race, under confidence it won't be called.
"He is clearly gaming the system on the back straightaway during the middle of the race, under confidence it won't be called." Yeah, that's what seems to be happening.
